Thats right I plan on driving the 3600 miles. Plus see Skywalker Ranch if possible.
anyway, I have relatives in LA, so no problems for staying someplace.
I believe in the addage, its not the destination but the journey.

Same goes for Lucasfilm/ILM. The park/grounds and cafe and restaurant are open to the public, as well as the Yoda statue. Behind it is the main desk with a bunch of props in the room. But past that, good luck!

I actually drove out there this past week, from Las Vegas. Its about 8 hours roundtrip. I went to see the Star Wars: Where Science meets Imagination exhibit before it closes at the end of the month. I am betting most of the artifacts they had on display there are going to end up at CIV.

eight hours. thats easy, I can do that with my eyes shut. Do it at least once every few months to either buffalo, Baltimore or even further south.
I do a parade in canada that is six hours away and stay in my car and drive back that night.
not to mention the other fanforce events I have done across the state of NY.
its fun. except for that time I wrote down the wrong directions to a fanforce event in buffalo and missed the turn and ended up getting lost and came back home.
that sucked. that was five hours up, five hours back and at least two or more hours getting lost.
