Which is what I said way at the top of this thread. The chances are very slim of getting tickets. But it's only 39 cents to take a chance.

Remember too, that this is also the last of Bob barker, as he retires at the end of May, so tix will be extra hard to get. As far as costumes, I doubt you'd get in with anything requiring a helmet, but I think armor is still okay. But if you get onstage, it's gonna be a pain to try to spin the wheel when your arms go up only so far, especially in a Vader costume.

I once read that if you look strange you are more than likely to be called to appear on the show. SO....Wear a Star Wars costume and you will stand out, thus getting called to:

If ANYONE has any questions about being on PIR or other game shows, please PM me. My partner has worked on game shows for over ten years, and it is HARD WORK if you are a contestant OR an audience member. One person she worked with was a page on PIR (actually the person who fills out the 'price tag name tags.'). And yes, there is a certain way they had to be filled out, etc.
IN GENERAL...
Contestant coordinators work VERY hard, and it can be a long and grueling process depending on which show. Contestants are usually pre-tested and made to play in mock rehearsal games, often more than once, prior to even setting foot on stage. In fact, contestants can be flown out from all over the country, vetted and then flown out again. It all depends on if you're the 'right person.'
The best idea is, LOOK at the people who are on the show. It's not that necessarily they're 'weird' or 'stand out,' it's that they have the look, and most importantly the right personality for the indiviual game show. (In fact, you may very well NOT get picked to be a contestant out of an audience if you're in anything remotely looking like a copyrighted (i.e. SW/LFL) costume, etc. for legal reasons.)
A WARNING: Game show viewing is SERIOUS BUSINESS. Many shows ban children under 12; check first. Hours can be LONG and tiring, with no food fed to you, and rare potty breaks. Once an audience is loaded, they will NOT let you go, if the day (or night!) runs long, unless it is a dire emergency. This is not a 'something we'll do for 90 minutes, then leave' kind of thing. Once you're in, you're there until they SAY you can go. If there is a technical problem (a stage light goes out, etc.), you may very well be there for hours. Actually happened: Tape night began at 5:00 p.m., scheduled to end at 9-10, and nobody left before 1:00 a.m.! Cell phones can be taken away from you if they ring or you try to use them.
Mostly this does not happen -- it can take 1 hour to 90 minutes to tape a 30 minute episode, if all goes well -- and remember, there may be 2-3 episodes taped at a go, and you stay for the whole run. If everything was smooth sailing for PIR, I think it's about 2.5 hours. But all it takes is one thing to go wrong...
If you can get into a show, great. They are fun to watch and it's an interesting process. But just bear in mind that you may be there awhile, and plan accordingly. This isn't JetBlue where you get vouchers or something if you're stuck on the tarmac for 10 hours -- you will have already signed a waiver and an acknowledgment to that effect...

Good Grief...After all that would anyone really like to go, it sounds like a terrible experience. I thought gameshows were fun and exciting...Oh well looks like I am out, way to much stress for a vacation and does not sound like fun at all!!!

Don't get me wrong, it is VERY interesting and NOT all bad! The host will usually greet and speak to the audience personally. It can be very fun, and often there are prizes for some audience members provided by show sponsors (can include even things like digital cameras, etc. and other good stuff). But one just needs to bear in mind that Murphy's law CAN happen at any time (just like in real life) and one needs to be able to roll with the punches.

about two months ago I applied for Deal Or No Deal and submitted the idea of doing a Star Wars theme. Hopefuly on May 25th or near it. Told them about the USPS postal increase and how Lucas LTD and USPS are working together.
All about Celebration IV and if they wanted to fill the studio with Star Wars fans they prob could by just bringing a bus to the con and offer people to come down.
I said i would even Say no Deal in Ewok, if i had a chance.
Well i had a e-mail the other day from NBC asking me some more questions like what i would do if i got selected. I said i would finish my Parents home that they have been building for over 20 years.
and pay off my bills and i would go to Disney!
