Thought I'd start up a new thread, so this would be seen more easily.
Here is information I've received from Adrian in response to some questions I've posed.
In response to a question about how many lines there will be in the store: "there is fast path line and a regular line."
In response to how many people can get in on one fast pass ticket: "Fast Path = One person per ticket, kinda like a concert ticket, the friends and family coupons cannot be used to get in either." Sounds like you won't be able to bring your kids in, either -- but that may be called on a case per case basis when you get there.
In response to how the exclusives are being sold (a concern of a lot of people): "The Ralph McQuarrie piece will be sold in the gift shop by us, but that is the only one that we are selling. So by default, that means yes the Luke figure will only be available at the Hasbro booth. Any of the CIV exhibitor exclusives (whether action figures, prints or whatever) will only be available at the exhibitors booths in the exhibit hall."
In response to my telling her this may cause a crowd control problem, she told me about this: "I do know that we have an entire team dedicated to line control for the entire event with plans A, B, C and D, and they will have the ability to deploy when needed to various events/areas."
She has also added this in an e-mail to me: "I know that we are planning to allocate the action figures we are selling to one per badge per day attending - so a 4day badge gets 4 action figures and a 1day badge would be allowed to purchase 1 action figure, but people will be able to buy their entire allocation at one time. We will be hole punching badges when they make their purchase and we have put special symbol marks on the badge for where these punches go. But I have no idea how Hasbro plans to allocate their figure and how they plan to track who has purchased one or not. I can't imagine that people would be very happy about having their badge randomly hole punched somewhere and it would be terrible if Hasbro did a hole punch and used one of our spots so someone wouuld lose out on one of the RM figures...."
Based on the above, she said that even though it might "open a can of worms," she is going to check on the Hasbro exclusive situation for us, and found out what plans are in place. She thanked me for the heads up. I told her she had the C-IV board folks to thank for that  .
There will also be (a big yippee! for this) "...we have a consolidated command central - at CIII one of the issues was that when there was a change - some people would share with who they thought needed to know, but they would miss a whole team or department so mixed messages and plans were going on everywhere - we've put this in place at our shows since CIII and we have one central hub in the show office where all information and updates get sent to and then the person manning this station makes sure that the information is disseminated to everyone! Yay!"
Finally, thought y'all would like to hear this: "The store is going to be fantastic too - I know people will believe when they see it, but it is over double the size as the entire store was at CIII - people can shop and select their items on their own without having one person pull everything for them and we've doubled the number of cash registers - not to mention that we've doubled, tripled and even quadrupled in some cases the amount of inventory for everything we are carrying. [editor's note: except for the exclusives -- there's a limit on those, as you know.] Add to that the 24 hour operation and I think it's going to be amazing!"

Awesome work Val, you should be commended.
I do have two concerns though:
1. Kids not being permitted in the store? What am I to do with my little ones, freeze them in carbonite until my shopping is done, this makes me upset, the conventions is supposed to be kid friendly, whats up with that!!!
2. Having to stand in line twice for an action figure. I mean its bad enough standing in line for the store, now having to stand in line for the Luke figure, my whole trip is going to be "the line ride."
Sorry for venting...but the kid thing really ticks me off, I mean how can I shop?

I read the kids thing as no kids allowed in the Fast Path line unless they have their own Fast Path ticket, but I could be wrong. Maybe if you want to bring your kids in with you, and they don't have a ticket, you'll just have to wait in the regular store line? I can't see why they wouldn't allow any kids in the store at all-- that would cause a lot of problems for parents.
Could you maybe clarify on this, VK?

Is this Fast Pass the same thing as where you sign up for an 'appointment' at the store? If so, I was able to order one not only for mine and my wife, but also for my son, associated to his Child pass... It doesn't make sense they'd let me sign up for him knowing he's a child...

I agree, completely, though I guess this means that since I'm talking about an older child it doesn't apply... seems highly unfair though, like the baseball game seat rule... if the child is just 'on the lap' of an adult, no ticket is required...

OK -- more info from GenCon:
Adrian is asking her customer service guru for a definite answer about kids in the fast pass line. Adrian believes that if the children are under 6, no problem with having them with you; however, she is going to double-check.
Also, for those who were asking about costumes and costume-changing areas -- this is from Adrian: "I am pretty sure there will be a costume changing room for the 501st and anyone who is an official volunteer for the show, but no, we do not have a special space for general attendees to change in."
