I still have major concerns about the "self serve" aspect of the store. I didn't think the way you selected product was an issue at the C3 store - the issue was with the store clerks and how slow they worked. Something tells me this is not going to work out as expected. While the QP time slots will help with the crowds throughout the days, I just keep seeing free-for-all madness ensuing as fans clutch and grab for select merchandise. Items accidentally falling on the floor and breaking in the hustle and bustle.

I hope I am dead wrong and am worrying for nothing.

What is REALLYING worring me is the Hasbro booth. I can see this turning into seomkind of Greek tradgety. I hope that the powers that be can come up with a solution that allows people a chance to get the figure. For some reason I can see this turning into people buying a hundred of the things at one time.

I had a brain fart....

What would be the problem with an online ordering system. I mean place your order and pick it up at the time you selected. Have an online store, where you pre-pay and pre-select your merchadise. Then theu check your order with your badge number to make sure you only purchased x-amount of figures and then put all you ordered in a box with your badge number on it. You can pre-pay or pay at the booth. That way no mass chaos and no issues, maybe lines, but hey we are all used to riding the line ride. Also, if they mess up your order and forget something, they have a small amount of merchandise in the back and they go get your items missing.

Then, they can set up a store for people who have one day passes and things, but us fans who live and breath Star Wars are taken care of, simple.

Hasbro has me more scarred than the store....Does anyone remember the Cabbage Patch Incident in the 80's, well I see that happening again...lol!!!

That is a really good idea. I am doing that for my Sideshow items. I really hope Hasbro and starwarsshop.com do the same thing.

the Hasbo Luke figure obtination is a worry for me.....this isn't my focus but a promise I made to the local media rep who who has done a ton of fantastic PR promotion for Star Wars....I owe him this...to try to pick up that Luke figure for him but I don't want to spend 6 hours in line...too bad Hasbro isn't coordinating with the store.......

let's see now........the algerbraic equation: fast track middle of the night from Thursday to Friday in the store.....for the McQuarrie nostalgia etc., then a separate loooooooooooooong Hasbro line just for Luke.

can't they unlearn what they have learned and make this less complicated, time-consuming and worse yet - unproductive and a failure to achieve potential?

already filling the guilt of failure to deliver.

Is everybody really THAT worried that they are not going to be able to purchase a Luke figure from Hasbro? C'mon guys, there will be plenty of Luke figures to go around for everyone.

I agree ... and worst case, get it on ebay a few months later as the price usually will cool down after a month or two on those exclusives. For CIII on the Vader figure, I saw them going for $40 to $50 on ebay a month after but 6 months later they were (and still are going) for about $20-$25.

I thought I had read it in this thread but I can't find it now - will there be bag check areas? Somewhere I saw that there would be and it would be $5 a bag.

Does anyone know about that?

Thanks - I know that on the 501st/RL volunteer boards there was some question on bagcheck areas and GenCon had said there wouldn't be any.

Would be nice for some more official communications on what is or isn't available!
