Im talking with my wife just now about what is the best way to get my figures, bust's, posters home to the Midwest. They will have a UPS hub there but I want my stuff with me when I get home not waiting till the following Thursday or Friday.
What are your thoughts?

If you want them with you, you'll have to take them on the plane, won't you? Unless you plan on shipping them overnight, which will be expensive.
Bring an extra (empty) suitcase.

i plan on shipping most of my swag home from LA. i'll be picking up alot for friends as well and dont want to fool with taking it on the plane. i didn't use the shipping service at C3 but my guess would be that they have a 2-3 day shipping option, which would solve your problem of waiting till thursday for it to arrive. anyone know for a fact if thats the case?

Well, UPS offers overnight service, two day air and three day select, depending on where the package is going. Also ground service, of course.

You are flying on NWA. Your carry-on size limit is 45 inches (or the equivalent of a bag that is 9 inches by 14 inches by 22 inches). Any place that sells luggage will sell you a bag of that size. But don't forget these things can get squeezed in those overhead bins!

When I took my son to C2 he bought so much stuff we couldn't fit it all in the luggage. We picked up a box from the shipping service but he didn't want to part with his "toys". We ended up shipping all our clothes home the last day and packed his "toys" in the luggage. It was fun to have our mementos as soon as we arrived home.

We will be stuffing a suitcase with snacks to bring with us to Cali.
Our plan is to eat everything inside it during our stay.
We will then replace the contents of the suitcase with SW goodies and make our way home to Chicago.
Hopefully our luggage will not get lost.

You can also take a box to the airport and pay for it as additional luggage but then it'll be handled by the luggage handlers!
Me, I'm taking my stuff home in the trunk of my car.

It's a good thing flights weren't delayed/cancelled and you ended up stuck in the city without any clothes.....

Q: Is the blade on the Force FX lightsaber removable?:
A: No, the blade is not removable or retractable. There are a number of wires and electronics systems in the blade that would not be as durable or reliable if we made the blade removable.

By that time we were too tired to care. We could have made do, we had C2 tshirts!
My son couldn't get off school for C3 so I had a shopping list for him and one of his friends. I took an extra tote to carry the tshirts & "toys". I shudder to think what he'll expect once the C4 shopping list is complete. I'll be shipping home lots of stuff since I'm making an extended trip and don't want to lug the extra weight around. I'm also picking up some things for others who aren't attending. I suspect I'll be budgeting a good sum for UPS.

I plan to ship my things home, but in the past I brought an extra suitcase. Also, for posters and things, if you go to the post office before you leave, you can pick up poster tubes at no cost. Then, you can use the tubes to pack your posters in your suitcase.
Being very avid in Ebay sales, I can help anyone with shipping ideas and costs. To ship home a box of action figures, my guess it that the cost would be around $12, an make sure you get the insurance.
Also, you can pre-pack some boxes in your suitcase, boxes are free at the post office.
Hope this helps!!!
