Here is what Im going to do.
Large suitcase with all cloths in a Walmart size bag inside the case.
Regular size gym bag packed in the case for return trip.
Use gym bag as a carry on for return trip and what I cant get in the suitcase and gym bag will go UPS.
I wonder if UPS will run Monday since its a holiday?

Southwest flyers you're in luck. Southwest allows 3 checked bags. I think I'll pack an empty tote in my suitcase which could work as a checked bag for my return. I just need to make sure it will hold up under rough handling. I wouldn't want my treasures damaged.
Here's their policy.
Baggage Allowance: For each ticketed Customer, Southwest allows three (3) checked pieces with size limitations for each individual piece.
Excess Baggage: Excess baggage will be charged at the rate of $50.00 each for the first (1st) through the ninth (9th) extra bag and $110.00 for each piece checked thereafter.
Weight and Size Allowance: Maximum weight is 50 pounds and maximum size is 62 inches (length + width + height) per checked piece of luggage. .....
Here's their carryone policy.
Airline passengers may now carry only one bag plus one smaller, personal-type item onboard the airplane. Personal-type items include purses, briefcases, cameras, food containers, or laptops (case included). Southwest Airlines limits carryon bag dimensions to 10x16x24 inches.

That is separate from the Business Center, which is a permanent location inside the CC. So both UPS and the USPS are available, which is very good.

I will ship anything that doesn't fit in my suitcase.
For smaller stuff, what I'm planning on doing right now is taking two suitcases. When I pack in a couple days, I will put all my needed clothes and other necessities in one suitcase. I'm bringing all my snack food in a big clear container and putting that in my other suitcase. I may also put some of the clothes from the other suitcase in the second suitcase with the food container just to keep it from shifting around.
Eventually, the food will get eaten, and I'll pretty much have an empty container within my second suitcase, and that is where I'll put my smaller collectables! They'll have a nice protective covering, and it'll all be concealed within the suitcase. Plus, things like the exclusive CIV action figure(s) will be in protective casing already.
