Two more important tips:
1. Make sure you have a fresh battery in your watch. Also, remember to set your watch to the correct local PST in Los Angeles once you arrive there.
2. If you use a "pay as you go" cell phone service (such as Virgin Mobile, Boost, etc) make sure you have enough air time applied to your account. Be sure to "top-up" right before you leave for LA.

You can now confirm your reservations at your participating hotel. The Star Wars blocked rooms have been let into the main hotel system. I confirmed my reservation this evening.

If you are going to buy posters, etc.:
A card board shipping tube is not convenient to carry. Visit an art store or the book store of your local college or university. I picked up a tube used for holding blueprints or art that is plastic and telescopes from 23-48 inches. Most important: it has a handle strap so you can carry it or sling it over your shoulder.
I've also been using the plastic tube to hold the EL blades to my lightsaber for storage and when I take it to events.

I found this in a travel guide: it pays to tip the housekeeper every day.
Exchange a few pleasant words with the housekeeper if you see him or her and leave a small tip each day in your room ($3). You'll receive better service. Knowing the housekeeper also reduces the chances that your room will be burglarized. Dishonest housekeepers are less likely to target guests they have met. If a burglar enters your room while it is being cleaned and pretends to be you (a common ruse) the housekeeper will be able to spot the imposter.
Think for minute: will you be buying souvenirs and leaving them in the room while you are at the con?

WOW, made my list tonight and I must be packing a small army. Gosh, I do hope I can fit all this stuff in. I have to admit going to Indy was less of a hassle, because it was a shorter trip and that meant less to pack. Also, Indy is no where near as expensive as Los Angeles. I have been to LA and count on oyur prices as being almost doubled.
I will post my final list tomorrow for everyone to print out and i will leave a small area for you to add your own personal info. This way I made a checklist for ya guys, I am anal about these things so it was not trouble at all.
Love ya guys...cant wait to meet ya!!!

Things to REMEMBER:
Call Hotel to Make sure your RESERVATION is in affect.
Call Airline to confirm your ITENERARY.
Call Car Rental Firm to confirm your RENTAL.

Don't forget the Febreeze fabric freshener if you have to wear your costume multiple times!
Also, don't forget all of your PayPal print outs (for your OP Photos, OP Autographs, Fan Club Breakfasts, etc.) and your confirmation emails for all of the GenCOn screwups for missing items!

Do not forget to bring a note pad and a couple pens you may meet someone new and want to exchange info, Myspace page e-mail phone numbers etc...
I also recomend a cd player or an Ipod lines can get long some good tunes or other audio can help pass the time.if you are bringing an ipod i would recomend to bring a way to charge it via plug or lap top or portable radio with charger.
would be a good idea to invest in a battery charger and have a couple sets of rechargable batteries for your camera or walkman's, always charge both sets before leaving the next day to have a fresh pair of batteries.
A back pack can not stress this one a way to carry Water, Snacks, Pens, Paper, and anything you may not want to carry with you in your hands. My back pack has a pocket where my back goes where i keep my cash so i have to take my pack off to get to my money and some one can not just reach in my pack to get my money. with out me knowing it  also is a great way to make sure i do not loose my money.
Would be good to have a zipper pocket to keep any money in or other things you would not want to loose.
Watch or a time device, Cell phone, ipod, would hate to miss an event cause you lost track of time.
I also recomend walkie talkie if you do not have a cell phone they are cheap like 35 dollars at wal mart 2 way radios 8 mile radius if you and a friend are going together and are going to split up these work great.
Phone number to any cab or have your bus schedules

Yet another to add to that list... FEBREEZE!!! Some people with costumes can't wash them at the hotel so Febreeze is a MUST! Even if you buy it while there, I highly suggest it.
Don't forget about your pets, make sure they have someone who can check in on them or a sitter for everyday. My "kids" (cats) will be looked after by their "grandparents" lol. I hope the cats don't eat the Gerbils

on that note of receipts....those who ordered Gentle Giant stuff....make sure to bring your receipts from the computer as well as other art work reservation receipts and such.....

all Forum badges and such to go on lanyard....etc
TSA approved locks
It also might be a good idea to weigh your bags ahead of time(airline weight, 50lbs per bag), as well as make sure how many and what type of bags you can bring, and make sure that all of the bags are secure so that nothing bounces or breaks
