The Kessel Run was a blast. I'm proud to say that Skye and I completed the run on Master level. The questions were challenging. Although, I did find it hilarious that an entire line of people waiting for the Vader Helmet display were unable to come up with any answers to the questions I asked aloud. Special thanks to the gentleman in the food court that provided some answers and everyone at the FF table . I enjoyed the challenging questions, but probably would have done better in the Knight Level .

If I had have known how many teams ended up at the FF table to borrow the net access, I would have told them to charge for it and we could have recovered the costs of the table rather quickly.

For C5, we can aim to set up a reference station at the FanForce table complete with books and nerds on hand. Charge will be by the minute.

you should be proud - Jedi Master level was written to be tough, and not all Master teams completed it correctly.

There were 29 Jedi Master teams. 19 of them successfully completed the Kessel Run. 3 teams made it back to the starting line without getting everything in order, and 7 teams got eaten by space slugs. So 65% of Master teams were successful finishers.
Of the 40 Jedi Knight teams, 13 teams were stopped by Imperial blockades, 5 teams found the finish line, but were missing locations or were otherwise out of order, and 22 teams successfully got hired by the Hutt crime lords after completion of the Kessel Run. (55% completion rate)
and of the 10 Padawan level teams, 6 teams got it all correct, 2 teams got hassled by bounty hunters but still made it to the finish line, and 2 teams bounced to close to a supernova, never to be seen again. (60% completion rate)

I thought that there were 100 teams?
29 + 40 + 10 = 79
What happened to the other 21 teams?
Also, I want to thank those of you that organized this. My team finished 6th at the Knight level, and we had a lot of fun doing this. So, thanks to everyone that played a role in making this happen.

there were 100 teams registered and another 50 or so on the waitlist, and we decided to cut off the waitlist, thinking that having more than 50 teams flake and not show up would be unlikely. during the convention, teams came by and signed out their waivers, and by sunday night, we had about 3/4 of the registered teams pass through to sign waivers and pick up their race ribbons. only one or two teams were courteous enough to let us know that they couldn't compete and to free up their slot on monday to a waitlist team, so we contacted the first few teams on the waitlist.
a few more registered teams trickled in monday morning, and then we started letting wait list teams in, but not that many waitlist teams showed up, so all in all only 79 teams actually raced.
it was a bit frustrating for us, because so many people were interested earlier in the convention and we had to turn them away, and then have quite a few teams flake completely and not show courtesy by hogging up slots that could have been used by other fans who did want to compete.

I'd like to acknowledge jawajames & team for a terrific job organizing the Kessel Run. I had a great time running (achem... "briskly walking") around the convention center with my teammates, and I wouldn't trade the experience for the world! getting third place in the knight's category was a fantastic bonus, of course. having said that, let me just add: darn suDooku!

The Kessel Run was definetly one of the best things of C4, and we in the FF Sweden team are pretty proud that we finished at 6th place, considering that we didn't have any access to any reference material.
The only thing that really lost us was the math questions. Now if you want some feedback I think that our team would have preferred if the math question was divided into several parts. Getting one number wrong and then having to recalculate the whole thing without really being sure on which number was wrong was very frustrating.

My friend and I ran the Master Run and loved it. Some of the clues were difficult (we never did get the math thing, with internet access both on his laptop and with my sister back in Jersey (There are SIX BH's on the Executor, not 5)). We also never completely solved the starship puzzle, though I laughed when I saw the Serenity. The second hardest (after math) puzzle for us was sheer idiocy for looking at the row of letters asking "Who is Padme's mother" and trying to solve the jumble of letters to come up with a clue name. And we solved the Endor clue by running to B&N and I flipped through the novelization. We managed to finish somewhere between 10 and 15th place in just under 3 hours.
Absolute blast, and we can't wait to do it at CV. Though now we know to have 4 people, regardless of how recently we met them.
And since I dressed up like Lt Kettch on Sat, Our unofficial team name was "Our First Kettch of the Day."

If that was you, then I talked to you at the Pacific Region's Fan Force table and took a picture.

We would have done better then 3rd if it wasn't for that Sudooku. and since we are mentioning team names, ours was "11 Parsecs"
