I can't do the meet for drinks as proposed Wednesday, May 23, but I'm interested in getting together to meet people on Friday or Sunday nights.
And if I were doing LA for more than C4, I'd not be staying in downtown at all, as there're other places closer to the other attractions. 
Less expensive than other places and a free breakfast... plus they seem to have their own restaurant operational, which means they passed health codes. I've stayed in worse places, let me tell you. Like when I was flooded out of an SCA event and the only thing available was this dive off the interstate next to an adult porn shop...
