What do you guys think? Does this sound like a good idea? Since it's been officially declared that May 25th will be Star Wars day in L.A., I can think of no better way thing to do than to head to the chinese theatre to have us get together and take a pic in front of the chinese theatre, the same spot where Star Wars opened 30 years ago. Anyone else up for it? I know the opening ceremonies are the same night at 7:30. Maybe there could be a gathering before or after that.

Note: Mann's Chinese Theater is a) a WORKING theater and b) home to the wretched hive of scum and villianry... aka tourists and people in bad costumes trying to make a buck. On a Friday night, it will be packed.

It might be packed but I think it would be great to show up there ... I'm planning on going there either that night or atleast that weekend anyway.

May 25th should have been declared "SW Day" across the country, not just LA.

Personally, I think Star Wars Day should be a national holiday. 
As for the theater, I plan on taking pics there Wednesday morning.

Our group had planned on visiting this location at some point on 'SW' Day (a given)
Can imagine it will be a chaotic zoo but it will b nothing for anyone attending all this craziness
A Photo-Op is a must (will b an ongoing activity throughout the week I'd say)

We took our garrison photos at the theater. It was early 6:30am or so. We were done by 8am I think... It was pretty dead. The security guards at the theater were on us about being in costume and the mall next to it wouldn't let us in with our helmets on. So if you are still up as the sun is coming up, go for it.
