Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall Gen Con saying at one point there would be courtesy shuttles running from the Official Celebration Hotels to the Convention Center. But I haven't seen anything on this and haven't rented a car in LA because I was counting on those shuttles.
I booked Super Shuttle to get me to/from the airport, but has anyone heard about the Hotel/Convention Center shuttles? Good news or otherwise?

I remember reading that, but when I re-read that announcement again, it may not necessarily be saying that there will be shuttles from hotels to the Convention center and back:
There will also be information on getting around Los Angeles, traveling to and from the Convention Center, and on shuttle buses available for convention-goers who are staying in the city.
This may only be talking about the shuttles to/from the airport.
Does anyone have any confirmation that there will be shuttles from the hotels to the Convention centers and back again?

Yes. A complimentary shuttle service will run between the official Celebration IV hotels and the convention center. Specific schedule and details will be announced closer to the event.
I just found this on Gen Con's website in the FAQ section for Celebration IV. Looks like we will definitely be getting shuttle service between the hotels and the Convention center. I'm just wondering when the announcement will be made for a schedule for these shuttles.

I'm pretty sure they said the shuttles will be running 24/7 (since the store is as well), but I'm not sure what the schedule will be like, if there will be different shuttle routes (i.e. at Comic Con, there's 5 different colored routes that go through the city to different hotels).

Yes, will be shuttle services from the hotels to the convention.

I downloaded the CIV Survival Guide for my iPod, and it tells more about the shuttle service under the "schedule" section. Basically, it says that every CIV hotel will have a flyer of some sort in the main lobby where we can look at the scheduling. Also, the iPod download tells the basic scheduling for the shuttles.

Here is a link to a .pdf file for the shuttle schedule.

Hopefully, they will allow non-official hotel guests on it. (I am staying at the Fig, but need transport to other hotels for the fan club breakfast, etc.) Sometimes convention buses require showing a hotel key to board, but I see no mention of it on the notice.

I noticed that shuttle service on Wednesday, the day of the movie marathon, runs until 12M. Problem is, the marathon is expected to finish up around 2AM. Any word on allowances for this?

Good information. One question, though: do you think we will have to be reliant on the shuttles? It looked from the official hotel map like many of them were within walking distance of the convention. Are the blocks very long? Or is the shuttle merely provided as a convenience for those who don't want to walk? Thanks.

The blocks are pretty long. Plus, if you are staying at the Omni, the last block is steeply uphill .
The shuttle really helps out when you are very, very tired from slogging around the convention all day. And if you are bogged down with packages, it's a chance to rest all that, too.

You are not noticing the service on Thursday morning -- that runs from 12:01 AM until 3:45 AM. That will cover the Marathon times nicely.

You are not noticing the service on Thursday morning -- that runs from 12:01 AM until 3:45 AM. That will cover the Marathon times nicely.

Oh, hmm, good point. I forgot that some people will probably be carrying heavy stuff to and from the convention center. Pity the 501st members.
