Here in WA the gas is about $3.45/gal. Something's wrong when Seattle is paying more for gas than LA. Hmmm

after lost luggage, a 2 hour rental car line and of coarse having to adjust to a 3 hour time zone difference, I decided it would be best to go stright to the hotel and re-group tomorrow.

What airline did you come in on? Did you have a lot of baggage? How long did it take to find them?
as you can guess I will be a first time flyier come this Friday and I want to get WRIGHT over to the hotel and then to the center Friday mourning.

Oh so you was here then,I must have been in the resturant on the 2nd floor whilst you was downstairs at reception :P. I tried to look for the droid the other day across the street from the convention centre but he was not there sad I must say it was not that busy the other day when the avengers were playing at the staples.

Thanks ValedaKor for the awesome update. I flew into LAX this morning and had planned to take a downtown tour myself, but after lost luggage, a 2 hour rental car line and of coarse having to adjust to a 3 hour time zone difference, I decided it would be best to go stright to the hotel and re-group tomorrow.....The trip WILL get better as the wek goes on. Thanks again for all the great work that you have done for the past year to keep us informed.

We have a car reserved - do you think there will still be a long line? we have plans when we arrive Tues. Did you find your luggage? this is our worst nightmare. Our costumes are worth a lot and without them well, that's the best part!

Gas right now is about $3.35 a gallon.

plain I'm so glad I'm only renting a car for two days.

Pfft.

I filled up for $1.24/litre in Canada, and our dollar is almost at par right now.

Call me when gas is $5us a gallon in the states wink Australians and co pay over $2/litre

I'm driving to Seattle to fly out, but I have a SUPER fuel efficient car (40-50mpg)

Thanks for this post, Valeda. The salad place has me all excited. I bet I can get some nice dressing free salads there with chicken and tastiness! Mmmmmm.

Nope, all the SW mailboxes are no longer at the convention center. The one up by Disney Hall is the only one I know of downtown.

Tell me about it. Petrol prices range from $AU1.25/L to $AU1.49 depending on the day of the week sometimes (and the petrol companies try to deny price-fixing, yet it's most expensive from pay day on Thursday until Monday).

I've never been able to put together really good and useful information packets for any vacation before.

So in that respect, THIS IS THE GREATEST VACATION EVER.

Thanks Val. applause

Hpoefully for you there will be more people working the rental counters on the weekdays. our luggage did arrive on a later flight. This was our first flight into LAX and I can say that compared to other airports it is much more time consuming doing all that you need to do to leave the airport. Good luck to you all and see you soon.......on our way to Disneyland this morning happy

We flew Delta from Jacksonville with layover in Atlanta and it was all of the Jacksonville luggage that made it to LA late. We did finally receive all of our bags about an hour later. Everything will probably go smooth for you, I fly frequently and this is only the second time this has happened. If you have a direct flight I would not worry at all. Good luck to you

I "feel" for all of you visiting LA for the first time.

You too will now get to experience the WORST traffic in the United States. (For those of you that are going to Disneyland, Hollywood, the beach, etc.)

Just remember, deep breaths. Anger is the path to the Dark Side and all that.

And Val, GREAT job. You've really done a service for everyone.
