banshee posted: I "feel" for all of you visiting LA for the first time.
You too will now get to experience the WORST traffic in the United States. (For those of you that are going to Disneyland, Hollywood, the beach, etc.)
Just remember, deep breaths. Anger is the path to the Dark Side and all that.
And Val, GREAT job. You've really done a service for everyone.
I'm from NJ right outside of NYC (so I know a thing or two about traffic) and then first time I went to LA, I was like you've got to be kidding me when does this stuff end. Of course I thought the gas at 2.05/gallon at the time was insane. Now I'd jump for joy at that price.

[quote=ValedaKor]My last "site inspection" . Went today because there is no traffic in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday mornings. A lot about places to eat, but there's other stuff, too. It's in no particular order LOL.
Pictures, we love pictures .
[And if you're going to try and find an In N Out, a #1 combo (Double Double) was $5.66 today including the tax (I was eating in). If you're driving in on the 10, you'll see the big In N Out sign on the other side of the freeway, at the Francisquito exit. Get off and eat there for your In N Out fix. It's a hop and a skip on and off the freeway.]
Whoa, whoa, whoa!...there are SEVERAL In-N-Outs closer than Francisquito!!! The cool thing about the Francisquito one, however, is that it is across the parking lot from the I&O Corporate Headquarters/Company Store, so you will find lovely Hawaiian shirts, magnets, mugs, stickers (free), hats, binders, fleeces, etc. inside, and for not too much money.
BUT...man, that's in Baldwin Park!! Going out that far and back from LA on the 10 can be horrific as far as traffic, particularly on a holiday weekend. Closer ones -- get on the 110, merge with the 5 north, then you have a choice of 5 North-2 North-134 Ventura-immediate right on Harvey, right there up the hill on the right, or 5 North-Colorado Blvd (Glendale), and there's one at the Glendale Galleria on Brand Ave. There are other locations closer by as well...check the web site! But definitely worth it, particularly if you want "real" fast food (i.e. real beef, freshly made french fries, etc.) at a great price.

If you will read that again, I told people who were coming in on the 10 they could pull off on the Francisquito offramp -- because it is easy on and easy off at that point. Read it again.

I took pictures, but I don't have the cable to download the photos here at work! I'll have to do that from home. Give me a couple of hours.

Here are some more pics from this morning!
This is the banner atop the West Hall Entrance:
This sign cracks me up! They know Star Wars Fans:
Here's a pic from the inside of the South Hall. The security guards wouldn't let us in any further, although I probably could've talked my way in.
Click here if you want to see!
Everyone please have a safe trip to LA.
Contrary to popular belief, LA does not have the worst traffic in the USA. I've seen much worse. It's very easy to drive in LA.

Thanks, JR! Great pics, as always.
Oh, and JR forgot to tell you he drives this:
HA HA HA But yeah, I've driven in traffic that is very much worse than L.A (East Bay, anyone? The 805/163/8 at Rush Hour? ).

How is the general area around there? My hotel is 7 blocks away from the center walking. I have a shop pass for night time and didn't know the safety level there. I've never been to LA, just Anaheim for Disneyland so I just wanted to know. I guess lots of people will be around given it's a huge convention. Any advice would help to you experienced ones.
