The movie marathon was the best. You never have time to see the movies back to back and I never realized how the whole saga just fits together. I mean, after the marathon I can believe that GL really did have the whole story in his head even before filming ANH. Everything in the story, in the galaxy just...is whole. To quote a a man who worked in the podracing scene (sorry, I can't remember who he was): "It just feels like GL just was there watching it yesterday".
Besides, the sound system was great (little too loud for my taste, but anyway). You could FEEL the lightsabers as being dangerous weapons, in stead of cool beams of light.

I had to chose between watch the movies or going to Disney with a bunch of people.
Needless to say I had great fun at Disney.

Oh Yeah, by the way, it was the first time I was in LA and I gladly spent the first day of it watching the marathon. Didn't get to see much of the city, but hey! It's STAR WARS!!!

this was my favorite part of Celebration - seeing all 6 Star Wars films in order with thousands of other fans. There's nothing in the world like it.
and I was in line at 6:00 a.m. - I was the 5th person in and had great conversations in line. Stayed for the entire marathon, was never sleepy.
Digital Star Wars......sound system blasting. Lightsabers in the audience. I would do it again anytime there's an opportunity.

Curious...
Does anyone have either an extra Movie Marathon Button or one they are willing to sell? I had tickets to the shows, but between my kids suffering from air sickness and me having pregnancy issues, I was unable to attend. However, I still would love to have a button. If you do, please PM me and we can set something up!!!
Thanks a million!!!

Watching Star Wars with Star Wars fans is an experience in it's self. It's a party and kinda like a contest to see who in the audience comes up with the great one liners.
The only thing better than watching Star Wars films with Star Wars fans with the public outburst and cheers, is watching the movies when they premiered at Midnight the first time and the atmosphere in the theatre is you know everyone is on the edge of their seats and pretty quiet to try and catch every moment in the film. Those six events (Episodes 1, 2 and 3 plus the Special Editions in the 90's) are once in a lifetime moments.
Unfortunately, my flight didn't allow me to really see all 6 films in the marathon this year. I remember the 5 at CIII spread out in the evenings and I do know that LA provided a bigger auditorium for such an event which was good. I'm sure the marathon has it's good points, but even though it made for a very long evening every night at C3, there's something about going to a Star Wars convention all day long, seeing all the events, meeting all the fans, meeting all the celebrities, and then finishing the night off with one of the films. I kinda like that over the marathon in one day.
