Did you guys go to the collecting panels? did any of you get the medallions? if so, talk about your experience.

Very nice. I tried to jump in a few but there were people sitting all over the floor waiting to get into panels. Seemed that the rooms were either too small or there were just alot of people trying to get in...showed up even earlier for the second panel but they had already filled, should have tryed to get into the Food Collectibles or Women's Collecting Panel instead of the more popular Collecting 101 and Internaional Collecting Panel. I actually was hoping to get into a panel just listen in and see what they were all about, would have given my coin up for a seat but seems the coins made alot just show up to fill space for the coins.

Hey -- the women's collecting panel was packed. We had a great crowd who asked good questions. Yeah, I'm totally sure that there were a lot of people who were there just for the medallions, but in the meantime they got to look and see about some really nice collections.

I looked and asked one of the panel personal there about getting one of those cardboard holders for the coins and he wasn't very much help on where to get one.
BTW, I did get 1 coin (Obi-Wan)

Yeah, I wouldn't have been able to tell you where to get the cardboard holders either, unfortunately.

Bah, they all must have been packed then. I really didnt care which panel I attended, I just would have love to start somewhere. Im not a collector atm, I dont have the time to be one but I can really see myself in the next 5 years picking it up so soaking up any info no matter what panel would have been fun for me...wasnt trying to knock the Women's panel one bit, just had seen nothing but guys lined up on the floor outside the Panel and figured I could have snuck into that one. If I affended any hardcore Food Collectors wasnt aiming attcha, just caught in the crossfire=)

I was lucky to get the luke and leia coin just miss out on a few others they wouldn't let me in the room.

I didn't get a medallion as I caught the end of one session and had to jet before the beginning of the next.
But I did notice the dealer standing outside the exit saying "Want to sell your medallion?" to every single person as they came out.

I got three of them Obi Wan, Vader, and the Death Star trooper. They look amazing. I've been trying to figure out how to make a necklace out of one.

I went to most of all the Collector Panels at CIV.
I am 35 so I was real interested to get face to face talk about vintage collectibles.
The panels were well preepared and very informative and entertaing.
I have 11 of the 12 medallions and they are just a truly my favorite exclusives from Celebration IV. 
Now it looks like I will have to go to ebay to get the Leia medallion.

I received one medallion and I plan on giving it to a friend if he wants it, otherwise I will save it for my son.. if it had been Leia or Luke I might have kept if for myself.. but it is a Tusken Raider/Sandperson. It is very very nice and shiny and I am sure they are all very attractive and nice, but not really the type of thing I collect.. I just wanted to go to the women's collecting panel for the discussion.

The crowds were pretty vicious by the end of the weekend. I got one at the women's panel, but I would have gone whether there was a coin or not (gotta support Ammers! ). I did go to 2 other panels just for the discussions.
Plus, watching people run for the line after each panel was one of the highlights of my weekend!

out of the 4 panels i went to,i got 3 medallions,Jawa,Han solo and stormtrooper.
Lets be honest-i was stoked to get these,but more interested in the meet and greet with other collectors and of course those panels in which i attended.Im sure to many ppl the medallions were a BIG draw card,and some ppl were being ridiculously insane when getting a medallion,leaving,then lining up for next panel to do it all again.
That Jenkins guy was really cool-kudos to him,and that dude from Australia who moderated one of the panels i seen him at-nice guy.All round congrats to those guys and girls who organised this panels.very good.

I have to be honest.. I was pretty ticked when I first arrived at the line for the women's collecting panel.. I had been volunteering and had just finished my shift and quickly got there to go to the women's collecting panel only to find this huge huge line outside and tons of men in the line and I asked if I was at the right panel and a group of women said yes I was and that there were people in line for medallions.. not for the panel..that they would come out of the room and just hop back in line to go back in and sit through another panel and get another medallion hopefully and then hop back in line again.... I was not happy when I was told that I was afraid the line was too long and I would not be able to get in to see the only panel I was interested in seeing.. however.... a group of women near the front of the line literally grabbed me and pulled me in line with them and said I should not be missing a panel I wanted to hear and see because of the medallion fiasco.. so in my case it was my lack of wanting a medallion that got me in to the panel.. and as I said before, yes I did wind up with a medallion, I am giving it away to a friend that did not even know they were giving away medallions at all.. I am one of those traditionalists female collectors that only collects Leia and Padme/Amidala items.. with the rare Luke/Anakin/Vader thrown in. My son collects and if my friend doesn't want the medallion (fat chance, he will want it, he was ogling it already) then I will give it to my son. It makes me sick at my stomach to see people selling these things that were given away free.
