They just started with the first batch of stuff. Just picked up the "Redemption" poster. This was one of the things that I wanted the most from the Celebration and since I couldn't go, this is great! Hopefully they put a few more things up for those not lucky enough to attend. I know that some will complain that things in the store were supposed to be totally exclusive to CIV, but if memory serves, the ONLY Celebration where they absolutely promised that no merchandise from the store would be sold online was CII. And they stuck to that one. I went to the first three Celebrations and was never upset to see the "exclusive" merchandise from the store online. Gave me a chance to pick up a few more things that I passed on at the actual event.

Ha. Somehow I'm not surprised they're selling it online now. They had too much leftover merchandise to pass on that opportunity.
Plus, by pretending that items are exclusive, they're allowing themselves to jack up prices at the convention and get fans to cough up the extra money without complaining. I'm sure some people bought things thinking they'd actually be able to resell them, like with those supposedly rare action figures of Artoo and Threepio. Old vendor trick.

Yeah on Monday the people at the C4 store said after the con they are destroying the rest which made no sense. They said they had over 20,000 left and at that point had released the whole limit thing so some people came and bought them by the case.
To make it even worse, any Monday badge buyers got a FREE 2-pack figure while us 4-day pass buyers had to buy ours. Ain't that some s***?
of course now I see it's reported online here that the remaining toys are being sold through another website. Way to "destroy" those remaining exclusives, Hasbro! I knew you wouldn't bring yourselves to destroy them before and I don't believe you'll destroy them now... (If you caught that I threw in some ROTJ action, heh)
Anyway I wasn't about to fall for that gag and spend full price. Half off I would hve bought one, but not even those toys were half off at the half off clearance C4 store Monday sale... I guess they are the exception to the EVERYTHING IN THE CIV STORE 50% OFF SALE!

Red jacket! I passed on it cause of the color (red = Target = bad memories...), but it's too awesome to pass up! YAY!!
I don't see how exclusive the Robot Chicken shirt is. I saw it at another t-shirt booth, and I think it cost less. Hm.

This happened after C2 as well. And aren't they still selling C1 posters? They never seemed to be able to get rid of those.

I notice the prices are back to full now. They were half on Monday. $45 for a track jacket is way too much, even if it is nice. I got it for $22.50 but wouldn't have paid more than that.

Here was the thinking behind that, as I understand. Unlike any other day, the most someone could get for a Monday badge was 6 hours (and that only if they got in right at 10). Any other day, there was much more to do and more time to do it in. The free figure was a way of making up for that.

Quite fair too. Place were shutting up early, the main actors weren't coming on the monday, less panels running etc.
To make them exclusive they should have just given them to hyperspace members only and made less of them.

I'll have to disagree with that statement. I'm just as much a fan as everyone, yet haven't felt the need to subscribe to hyperspace for a few years now. So to deem I'm ineligible for the exclusive just because I don't pay for their one subscription isn't fair IMO.

The C2 stuff was not sold online after the show. The only times this has happened was at C1 (I remember the flood of cry babies over that one, and I am sure that it led to the decision not to do it for C2), C3 & C4. I also remember the merchandise in the C2 store running out VERY quickly due to them not making enough as they didn't want to be stuck with stuff come Monday after making the promises that remaining stock would not be sold online as it had for C1. By Saturday afternoon the store was basically closed and all they had were tables outside the doors where you could order more stuff to be shipped to you later. The only bad part about this was the shipping, but as I remember it, they had a deal to keep that very low. I am sure that some kind of loss was still taken due to this, though, (at the very least they STILL had to listen to people crying that they had to have their stuff shipped to them later) and that it led to the decision not to cater to the few "fans" who might be upset that the "exclusive" Celebration store merchandise would be sold online afterwards. Should have been no secret to anyone at C4 that the remaining stock would be sold online.

I was kinda mad the SW C III "exclusive" Vader was sold on SWshop.com a week after the event. Why do they even bother with calling it exclusive when it's just gonna be sold online a week later?

I don't think that was the exact same figure. Didn't it say different things, or not speak at all?

Nope. Same exact figure as at C3. They sent some overseas to sell at some store over there, too. I heard just like a month ago that they were still in this one store in, I think it was in the UK, gathering dust. I guess it's a situation where they are damned if they do or don't. If they don't produce enough figures for the people at the show, they're screwed and get yelled at. If they make too many and sell them somewhere else after the show, they are screwed and they get yelled at. Personally, I couldn't care less as long as I get what I want.

I find it interesting that some of the CIV "exclusives" that were SOLD OUT at the convention are now available on that website... like the Leia tank top....
