I hate IHOP!

Did anyone else have bad service at the IHOP near the convention? For two nights in a row, the service was terrible - one night the waiter screwed up the order, and the next night, after one hour, they still hadn't taken our order, and never even gave/offered us water!

Unfortunately, the Denny's was stupid enough to be closed for renovations. They would have made a fortune.

You literally waited one hour at a table? That's unheard of, maybe they were short on staff or just completely in another world. I used to be a server, so making a guest wait at a table FOR AN HOUR is unbelievable!

It was okay. I went there once to get take-out the morning before I had to leave for the airport and the wait wasn't too bad. My roommate said he had to wait a really long time for takeout when he went, though. Might depend on the time of day when you went.
Also, please pardon my being too lazy to log out and back in with my regular name. I'm adding people I met at C4 to this WUL because the one on my poop account is full.

Yes! ONE HOUR! If they were short-staffed, they should've let us know when we got in, so we could expect a longer wait, or just go somewhere else. I've been in guest service and retail for 18 years and there's no excuse for that! Don't tell me you don't know there's a huge convention nearby, you're the only place open late at night, and your service still sucks?!

Wow, we had a hard time at IHOP too....took at least an hour and 40 minutes to eat there one morning. We were craving pancakes. Bad service, we had to ask on the status of one of our parties meals after the rest of us were nearly finished, and we had to ask for our check twice. Just another example as to why the surrounding neighborhood needs to come into play when deciding on where a Convention should take place...
Also, did anyone go to eat at this place called "The Pantry"? The cab driver from the airport told us it was a great place to eat, (in fact I think he went a block out of the way of our hotel to show it to us), and then another cab driver (didn't speak english well) tried to take us there the morning of IHOP. Was curious what the big deal was with this place when the Cabbies are trying to get us to eat there!!!

My wife and I dined at IHOP one morning, and we had no problems being seated or getting our food. I'm sure the fact that the Denny's was closed for renovations was a major factor in the increased customer base, hence the staff shortage.
And yes, I ate at The Pantry one afternoon for lunch, and that place was terrible. The menu was very limited and the place had that "un-clean" feeling to it. Why the cab drivers would recommend that place is beyond me.

I didnt have too many gripes with IHOP. We ate there Monday night and they seemed to have their stuff together.
We ate at the Pantry one evening. While it was a little overpriced, the atmosphere was exactly what I expected judging from the outside. The service was great, the cole slaw was TO DIE FOR, and their Mac'N'Cheese was delicious. The lack of a menu was a little confusing at first, but when the waiter realized we were tourists he politely pointed to the wall and said "I'll be back in 5 minutes".

Sounds like Steak and Shake during C2 and C3 in Indianapolis. These places just aren't prepared for the amount of people who show up... should say something about the management.

I could've told you that about IHOP a long time ago. That one has bad service even when there's no convention or any other customers there. I work in Downtown LA, and getting food during the convention was my number 1 concern.

I've been waiting 45 minutes in the morning because they deleted/ delayed/ forgot my take-away order twice. I got free bacon to make up for it, which I couldn't eat (I'm a vegetarian), so I gave it to my roomies.

I've never been to that particular IHOP but the one in Vancouver usually has good service even if it's packed.
