It only turned out that way because both nights I was out late, and nothing else as open that I could see, and I figured the first time was just a bad night, with a bad waiter, and I wasn't going to spend the rest of the night looking for something else! And I didn't reward them with my business. Instead, I poured maple syrup into the water glasses!

I've had a lot of really bad times at that IHOP (mostly when we were working the Dressing A Galaxy exhibit at FIDM), but the two times we went this time weren't that bad. Again, stupid Dennys...

I had a much better experience at the Original Pantry a block north of the Figueroa. Crowded as hell, but the food was to die for and the service was excellent.

We keep going to Gencon run events.
Need I remind you of the C3 lines. That being said this time they did do a much better job.

We had a similar experience at IHOP on Sunday night. It was late, and even California Pizza Kitchen was not accepting any more (I think it was like 8:30). Anyway, we ate with some guys from Golden Gate Garrison who were kind enough to let me and my 8 year old join them. It was an hour before they took our order and then another 40 minutes for the food. I did NOT want to go back to the Omni and pay room service prices though. Not to mention, our chocolate chip pancakes had NO chocolate chips in them. Our local IHOP is great, my boys love the Funny Face(which is why we go there a bunch). I agree I hate that LA IHOP!!! The worst is that they acted like they were doing you a favor for feeding you at all. These are the times Sith lightining would be helpful

I've never been to an IHOP that had expedient service in the middle of the night. In fact that's *why* I go there in the middle of the night to study or write papers, I know the waiters aren't going to be bothering me every 10 minutes

No offense but I don't consider 8:30 pm on a Sunday night, the middle of the night. It would seem like 11 pm or midnight would be considered the middle of the night to me.

I lucked out and had fantastic service each time we went to IHOP. My group was always seated right away. The food was good and arrived in a timely fashion. They didn't even seem to mind my lekku. Another plus was not kicking me out when I started laughing really hard. Plus, it was fun stalking Miana

I ate at IHOP three times since it was across from my hotel.
Friday morning FanFiccer's breakfast: the place was swamped and our waiter was a real trooper. My french toast was a little over done and the scrambled eggs weren't the shape they normally are, but it all still tasted good and I felt that the kitchen was just bombarded.
I think the other two times were Saturday night and Monday night and the service and food was great. The restaurant was fullish but no where as overloaded as it was that Friday morning.

Didn't we go on Thursday night, too? That's when I remember the service being slow, but the food was always good whenever I went.

Our group went there Friday night after the crapdom that was the Opening Ceremonies and while they weren't the quickest bunch in the world it wasn't too bad.
However, looking around you could tell that many people weren't happy with the service. I guess it depended on which waiter you got (or DIDNT rather).

I was soooo glad we had a car rental as far as eating was concerned. Our hotel was on the edge of Koreatown so we ate Korean food 2 times. It was pretty good and I'd never had it before. There were tons of restaraunts up on Wilshire Blvd. We also ate at the Denny's further up Wilshire one night as well. It was pretty good, especially considering we had free meal cards!
