Uh-Oh... I foresee a combination of Star Wars and National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation next summer. Remind me to stay away from the blackjack tables. I am Clark Griswold incarnate, after all.

If you're intersted in an inexpensive hotel on the strip you might check out Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon. It was recently purchased by Harrahs and used to be known as the Barbary Coast. That's where I stayed on my way home from C4. They have Star Wars slots!!!
It's ranked #15 out of 240 hotels in Vegas according to TripAdvisor. My room was large with a 42" plasma tv. It's not new or grand but my room was well furnished and clean. The great thing about this hotel is it's small and takes very little time to ride the elevator down to the casino and walk out the front door to the strip. It's located next to Bally's & Flamingo and across the street from Bellagio & Ceasars Palace (and the forum shops)almost dead center of the strip. Great location.
As with any hotel you want to avoid weekends because the rates sometimes double or triple. Of course if that's the only time you can go then you will get a much better rate at Bill's than some of the larger hotels.
Be sure to check the convention calendar when planning your dates. That will also impact the hotel rates. There are lots of great websites to help with planning. Check out Cheapo Vegas. Heck, I might be ready for another trip to Vegas by then.

Yes, and I think the hotel Kendra suggested is pretty good and not very expensive.

Yeah, just think of the misery there. You might have to actually get your own room and not have to worry about sneaking in at 3 AM, not having enough keys to go around, needing to use the bathroom and having someone else be in there, etc etc. OH, WOE.
