ShadaErsari posted: Well, thank you Justin and Grumpy for making me feel not-quite-so-bad about my feelings regarding the film. It's true - I went into this wanting to like the new movie. I knew it wouldn't live up to the old trilogy, but then again, nothing ever will. But I at least went in hoping I would like it enough to get excited over the prospect of adventure and action and just...childhood silliness, I suppose.
And I felt...like a child abandoned when I walked out of that movie. It sincerely broke my heart.
I actually wrote a rather lengthy review regarding the film when I got home. I was just so irritated and upset that I had to vent my frustrations. I'm wondering how if I was too harsh, but I doubt it.
And to think I have to go see that piece of garbage tonight for the 2nd time.... my son is dying to see it. I so desperately would rather take him to see Prince Caspian... (((SIGH)))

You know, and I can't believe I'm saying this, I actually liked it a lot more the 2nd time around. I still have a huge problem with the end of the movie but I enjoyed it a lot more the 2nd time. I took my son who's 7 and maybe it's because I watched it this time with younger eyes. I don't know. Maybe we're all just a bit older now and more jaded so we look at the films differently. I still think they could have gone in a different direction but maybe the 2nd time I already know what I was in store for and so I wasn't so shocked. That's the only thing I can think of. It's still my least favorite Indy movie but the horrible piece of trash I first thought it was. I'll certainly buy it when it comes out on Blu-Ray.

Hmm....well, I'm intrigued now! I'm glad that you ended up liking it better the second time around.
I know I have to go back and rewatch this film with fresh eyes. It's not fair to judge something off of a midnight showing...at least that's my experience in the past.
I'm just too scared to go back and see the horror all over again.

Interesting. I might give it a second change then in the theaters.

I'm wondering if I should get excited over that one or just take an air of indifference to it. lol After Indy, I'm [more than] a little disappointed...

Not sure how I feel about this either. I love the films and while I used to read the books, I quickly got tired of others take with the characters etc. I know Lucas didn't write this and to be honest, I'm a little sick to death of the time period upon which this story takes place. I can't see myself not going to see it but I'm not that excited about it. Visually it looks good but I don't know if there is enough of a plot there to make an interesting story.

The ambiance alone is a reason for me. Nothing can compare to the screaming and clapping of fans, as the green Lucasfilm glitters on the screen and you here the Star Wars Fanfare. Awesome!!!
I am a bit worried, since KOTCS...But we will see.
Any news on C5 would be nice about now...lol.

Try putting aside any expectations you might have for Indy 4 and just enjoy it for the fun Saturday matinée, popcorn flick it is. It's not brain surgery, it's just an old-fashioned adventure film.

Oh, I agree!
I'm hoping that fans get over the fact that it's not a "real movie" - this is the argument I've been hearing against the Clone Wars movie. I think a lot of people view it as simply a TV pilot put onto the big screen. I'd love to see a decent-sized crowd for the midnight showing.

Well...You can count me in on a midnight showing. I will never miss an opening Star Wars anything...lol. I was 5 months pregnant, high risk and contracting...and I showed up for the midnight showing of Episode 3...lol.
FOR ME IT IS STAR WARS OR BUST!!!!
Clone Wars looks great. Love the way the characters look, but would like it more if the original characters loaned their voices. At least for this first full-length movie...persay. But, cant have everything...so guess I will take what I can get.
Hugs to all!!!

Hey Justin. If you haven't already, check out the Legos Indian Jones game. I got it for my son the day it came out and we've been having a lot of fun with it. There are a lot of little Star Wars easter eggs in it... some pretty funny ones too. If you enjoyed the sense of humor with the Star Wars Legos games, you won't be dissapointed in this one. They did an excellent job.

Funny you should mention Lego IJ, Brian. I just found the official Prima Guide for the game at my local TRU (I could not find it anywhere on release day last Tuesday). My wife and I are HUGE Lego SW fans (we own all 3 versions), and we cannot wait to dive into Lego IJ.
Thanks!
