That would be great -- I'd love to fly to Chicago for a Celebration. Anywhere in the country's fine with me.
Chicago would be pretty sweet. Isn't it a central hub or at least one of the main central hubs? It's kind of right in the middle of everything and I've flown through there a few times. If any city is prepared for conventions, it's Chicago. Isn't it the Convention Capital of the US? I thought they had more conventions there then NY because of the cost.

JediJustin posted: Thanks Connie. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed tightly that this is in fact true for C5.
A more central location should appease most fans across the country, which would increase attendance and keep the Celebration experience rolling right along for everyone.

So what are the rumors as to when this might take place?

Supposedly Steve Sansweet mentioned at Jedi-Con that C5 is "very, very, very" likely to happen in 2009.
And that Chicago is the current frontrunner to hold the con.
Dustin is checking the validity of these statements with Steve.

Not the city I was hoping for! But it is better than L.A.! I think it takes 5 hours to drive from my house to Chicago but I have never been there so I would be lost if I went by myself. I am always hoping for Indy!

A new thread was the best place for C-V rumors -- no need to search for responses .

Does anyone know if they're still planning on releasing the original trilogy in 3D? That's something Rick said way back at CIII but I haven't heard much since. The new 3D tech is amazing. If you haven't seen a 3D film since the old red and blue glasses days, you don't know what you're missing. I saw the U2 film U23D at our local IMAX and it was stunning. A segment of the original trilogy that I imagine would look unbelievable is the Death Star battle. I really hope they do still do this.

Brendan Frasier actually saw a few minutes of the film in 3D, he pretty much said it was awesome. I know I cant wait for this one...question is...will we need those glasses? lol

For the U2 show I saw a few weeks ago, you still wore glasses but they aren't the white paper kind with red and blue lenses. They looked like 80's sun glasses made out of plastic. I saw it at IMAX so it was a small scale kinda thing where they provided the glasses and you gave them back. I'm not sure how the Star Wars 3D thing would be. I was under the impression that the new tech had to be played in a special theater, not your typical mall multiplex.

Oh no. That's the same day Socom Confrontation comes out. I'm sure I'll like the Star Wars game but Socom is the best shooter game EVER... and the online play is just amazing. Oh I'm going to be busy that week. LOL!
