The backstage area was pretty confused, and the ceremonies were almost evacuated. Considering the circumstances, I think things went pretty well. Other than a few over dramatic "the sky is falling" types who frequent these boards, everyone I have talked to has been pleased with the ceremonies (under the circumstances) and the con in general. I think some people just want to have something to complain about.
han-shot-first posted:let me ask you, when gen con peeps are grabbing people, yelling in their face, being told we would be arrested, blaming the fire dept. then the police dept.,being told one thing as far as why we had to leave ( I was three people from the door with at least a few thousand seats left open), being forced outside where the "activity was happening" for over an hour in the cold for a bogus reason, etc. etc. etc....this makes us the sky is falling type? wow, not cool. let me ask you: if gen con grabbed your stroller with your child in it and decided on their own against the will of the parent to do so and almost losing his balance and dropping the small child while going down the escalator...would that person be a sky is falling type? so if someone had a legitimate grip as it was their experience, that makes them a sky is falling type? that's kinda arrogant if you ask me. being that I and many were outside while you were inside because of poor planning makes it okay to judge ones opinion? the only redeeming fact of that night as well as the rest of C-IV to where issues arose is the fact that the opening ceremonies sucked. this was confirmed by just about anyone who was there. Hmmm...you say you were in it huh?
