I realize that the outcome of this focus group was not necessarily satisfactory for all. However, the overriding purpose of this focus group was to discuss how fanfic should be moderated. That was the purpose off all these threads and all the discussions that took place here. While there are many issues that may or may not bear further discussion in the aftermath of what has gone on these past several weeks and months, the relevant issues of how fanfic should be moderated do not seem to be in contention.
Therefore, at this time, I am announcing a new close date for the forum: Thursday, July 7 at 6PM board time.
If there are no specific topics brought up that pertain directly to the issues of how fanfic should be moderated before the close time, these threads will be closed.
Issues that pertain indirectly to the topic of how fanfic should be moderated, issues that pertain to how this entire affair began, issues with how users can interact with each other to heal wounds and move forward can be discussed in their appropriate forums in Resource and/or Comms. If these issues are brought up here, I will ask that they be redirected to their appropriate forums. I will not keep this one open for corollary discussions.
However, I urge ALL users to please reflect on what we can do to let fanfic move forward, and to please give our new moderators a chance to do their best for our forums without encumbering them with old hurts and old wrongs and old quarrels. Please, let's close this forum on the past and use this opportunity to give fanfiction a fresh start.

Let me add to what LadyPadme posted.
I have gotten complaints from several users that this FG was being closed down too quickly, especially in light of the holiday weekend for most users, to the point where LP and I discussed it some over the weekend. She agreed to extend it beyond what she originally posted, but it is now up to those users who want it left open to respond. It won't be left open just to keep it open.

There was a blur of movement, and a small creature, grey and grinning like a Noghri, dropped soundlessly from the shadowed ceiling onto the plush carpet beside Lady Padmé.
For a moment, as the creature drew itself up to its full height, the Jedi Mod just stared at it, blinking in disbelief.
The only sound was the whistle of the wind across the shattered glass, the soft simmer of summer rain.
Then the Ewok raised its gun, levelling the broad, black muzzle at the Jedi.
He grinned, and pulled the trigger.

That one's easy to deal with.
Nothing happened. The gun had jammed.
With an evil grin, Kimball Kinnison walked over and knocked the gun from the Ewok's paw. Before anyone could move, the Ewok's screams were echoing as he flew out the broken window.
Retrieving the gun, Kinnison remarked, "Next time, he should remember to take off the safety."

Flying down free-fall into the depths of Coruscant's steel-and-glass canyons, the Ewok sighed, and pulled the ripcord on his emergency parachute.
Some people need to learn that power-plays don't make for good round-robins, he thought, as the braking action of the canopy slowed his descent to a more civilized pace. Rummaging for a moment in the pocket behind the lapel of his Grand Admiral's tunic, he pulled out a becon call, grinned like only Ewoks can, and pressed the central key.
In Lady Padmé's appartment, the gun suddenly started to flash brightly, tripping across the spectrum like Alan Whicker's moustache, and the sound of the Bonzo Dog Dooh-Dah Band classic Give Booze a Chance began to howl from its built-in speakers.

No Ewoks (or Mods) were harmed in the making of this post.

LadyPadme recovered from her momentary catatonic lapse, and as she surveyed the carnage of shattered glass and muddy Ewok tracks in her once pristine livingroom, she let out a shriek on a scale of decibel and octave only achievable by the mother of pre-school helions, "What in the blazes is going on here?"
Just at that moment, she saw the glowing Ewok blaster in Kimball's hand, and heard the discordant music it was emitting.
With a deftly practiced roundhouse kick, she dislodged the offending weapon from the Council member's hand without damaging the purple ring of power he wore. The gun sailed through the air and out of her livingroom's shattered picture window that once commanded a lovely view of Coruscant's eight hundredth level. It soared into the pouring rain, still blaring bad music that was nauseating enough to fell any sentient within its sound radius.
At the same time, LadyPadme sprang back from her kick stance to pull both the startled Kimball and the still dripping wet DamonD onto the floor, drawing on her strength in the Force to create a shield that protected them from the dangerous bad music sound waves before the weapon changed tack and began emitting the more lethal killer song, These Boots Are Made for Walking.

"That," Grand Admiral Thrawn intruded smoothly, "is exactly what I wanted you to think."
Everyone in the thread blinked in surprise as the Chiss Imperial stepped out into the light, wearing his disco-licious full dress uniform - brilliant white fabric offset by gleaming black boots and a heavy crust of braid around the collar and epaulettes.
"However, moving briskly on from that slightly cheap segue," he continued, "there are still important matters to attend to here."
"Oh?" the FocusGroup participants chorused, leaning close in response to the Grand Admiral's words.
Off to one side, Lady Padmé and Healer Leona buried their faces in the palms of their hands.
"Indeed," Thrawn nodded. "Observe. The muddy Ewok paw-prints in the carpet."
"McEwok!" several people chorused, anger and satisfaction lighting up their faces.
"Not necessarily," Thrawn tutted, lifting an admonitory eyebrow. "Consider this - McEwok dropped from the rafters, where he had remained since the start of this scenario, and was promptly ejected from the room by 'Strator Kinnison, without his feet ever leaving the ground. Moreover, McEwok was wearing an Imperial uniform, much like my own - albeit tailored for a rather smaller and furrier body. Nevertheless, he had on a pair of perfectly adequate jackboots."
"So?" Lady Padmé asked, looking at the blue-skinned warlord in concern. "What does that mean?"
Thrawn smiled enigmatically, and steepled his fingers. His red eyes flashed as he looked from face to face, challenging them all to pre-empt his conclusion.
"It means," he said, "that there is another Ewok hiding in this thread!"
