I also agree with that sentiment. HealerLeona and LadyPadme are doing fantastic. Keep up the great work. I don't ever want anyone to feel they cannot PM a mod about a problem. That became a major part of your problem here - lack of communication. As Raven alluded to, we are making efforts to help assist your forums with communication. We've brought up in the Mod Squad something we had started about outlining a formal grievance procedure. As of this afternoon, DantanaSkywalker stepped down which means you'll be with at least one new mod in the near future. If you have any suggestions, feel free to PM me, HealerLeona, LadyPadme, etc... and we'll be sure they're mentioned and discussed.

Just a quick post with a couple of broadly Communications-related issues that other people have asked me to raise - not FG2 members obviously; but in fact, neither of them is primarily a Fan Fiction person..
One of them simply asked me "to mention there's more than just the interests of Fan Fic users in question; the way the Admins handle this particular case is important to whole JC userbase"...
The other one, as I think I mentioned already, was slightly confused by the rules on how much constructive criticism can be offered in reply to 'fics. I've certainly felt in the past that I'd like more criticism of my own 'fic, and the definition of the limits of polite reader comment (in terms of both content and delivery) are maybe a bit vague...
... though personally, I don't mind vague!

While I can understand there being some confusion on this, it is really a matter of erring on the side of caution in respect to critisim. Though, any author would most certainly be free to ask for more critical response if that is what they'd like.

Hmm... 
Perhaps have some sort of "criticism" thread in WR, if there isn't one already? Or a masterclass in which everyone volunteers something they've written for disection?
I'd relish the sort of breadth and freedom of POVs that that would allow - would even be prepared to organize it if someone wasn't doing so already...

Thrawn, such a thread could only be used for people who put their names out there and asked for it. And then you need to ask yourself how many people are truly interested in hearing critique? Most people who are get betas.

Okay, I'm not married to the idea of putting a social thread in each of the story forums, but I think we do need a way to better gauge what people in the non-Resource threads are thinking and feeling. What's the best way to do this?

Why not create a thread (possibly with a poll, "Would you like a thread for purely socialization purpose here?") in each forum asking people for their opinion? I think it would be the simplest and the most effective way. And by "each forum" I mean all three Eras AND the Resource. Whaddya think?

I can see the results, Forum A says Yes, B says No and C doesn't care. Thre months down the road, forum C says "Hey, if Forum A has one, where's OURS? Forum B says "we told you it was a bad idea! Then users D E and F start beliguring the fact that it should be all ways all around, user G H and I start in with "Lets do a poll!" - user J calls it out, user K flames them, and then the rest of the letters Drive Mods L & LP to drink...
