I didn't understand that we just held a VOTE for a final decision, I thought we were all simply expressing our opinions on possibilities, which is what the poll was intended for, to give a broader range of users the chance to weigh in.
Is this now a final decision?

I HOPE so... I've received a nice chunk of PMs from people saying we are heading in the right direction. Also, the now infamous "WHTG" thread seems to be full of people who are ALSO in agreement.
Ultimately, it's up to our mods, HL & LP really, but I think a clickable poll leaves way too much room for sock voting unless people are required to post Yay or Nay...

A. Within Resource itself, here are the options:
1) Split into resource and socialization forums
2) Confine socialization to sanctioned threads and keep them out of other threads
3) Allow some relaxation of socialization from current rules, but keep guidelines in place in to keep chatter from getting out of hand.
B. Outside resource, would people want to have a socialization thread within each forum?
Or essentially, splitting or not (A) and whether to have a socialization thread in each forum (B). At that time LP also posted – If the vote on either issue is close, perhaps we could then consider taking it to the rest of the boards in a poll?

LP responded – My own fears notwithstanding, what do the rest of you think about having a poll in Resource to discuss this last point?
It seemed that many agreed to take the last point or (B) to a poll.
Personally I still think separate threads in each forum are a bad idea, but more FG members didn't see the harm in taking it to a poll. As Breezy pointed out, I think everyone should be made to log their vote with a post (as has been done in the past) or it won't count.

While it seems that most people here have agreed about not having separate threads in the forums, I saw a lot of different opinions in Resource. I just thought perhaps the numbers here were not a large enough sample to gauge board views as a whole when there seems to be different things said on this board and WHTG. As for how socialization is modded, most people also like Door #3 here and in Resource, so I just wanted to formalize a vote and push the topic off the table.
But if a lot of people DON'T think a poll is necessary, then please speak up now.
It's still 3 yes and 1 no for a poll (from my last count)

On my part I would think this issue has been resolved... looking at what the first FG came up with in terms of socialization and the modding of it I believe we've at least come to an agreeable understanding of guidelines to be used. IMHO
