Could we get some type of update from those who wanted this thread reopened as to what they want to discuss further? We were moving along and now we're at a dead stop. Waiting and not knowing what's going on.

It seems I did not make myself clear earlier on, and I apologize for this.
Let me see if I can do better this time around 
In the interests of moving things along, I had posted these two questions:
A. Within Resource itself, here are the options:
1) Split into resource and socialization forums
2) Confine socialization to sanctioned threads and keep them out of other threads
3) Allow some relaxation of socialization from current rules, but keep guidelines in place in to keep chatter from getting out of hand.
B. Outside resource, would people want to have a socialization thread within each forum?
Of the twelve respondents, 11 of them voted for #3 to question A, and there was one vote for #2.
There was unanimous agreement on question B, that the answer was 'no'.
HOWEVER, there were people who felt that perhaps a poll should be conducted for fanfic at large. I asked people to weigh in: would they like a poll or not? There were only 4 replies. 3 yes and 1 no.
Then, DarthSapient came in and said that if it looked like things were wrapped up here, perhaps we could just close the thread.
Since there was a majority vote on question A and a unanimous agreement on question B, I felt it was enough to end the vote. Now to clarify on numbers. There are currently 18 members in this focus group. 10 users, 2 current mods, 3 outside mods, and 3 admins. ONLY the guests did not respond to the polls. All the 'fanfic' people did. I thought it unnecessary to wait for the guests to weigh in as this is mainly bookkeeping type stuff. In the end, Leona and I agreed with Sape that things look wrapped up, so I closed the thread.
Since then, there have been several people who stated they wanted the thread reopened because they weren't sure what went on.
So, again, here are the results of the discussion:
11 respondants favor this rule for socialization: Allow some relaxation of socialization from current rules, but keep guidelines in place in to keep chatter from getting out of hand.
1 respondant favors this rule: Confine socialization to sanctioned threads and keep them out of other threads
As the response was 11 to 1 in favor of rule #3, I had stated that discussion of socialization parameters should go back to Focus Group I (this includes all aspects of socialization/chatter, on the story threads and in Resource)
Also, since 3 out of 4 people who weighed in on the poll question wanted the poll, there will be a poll. The only caveat being that since this affects the boards as a whole, that we would like to wait until the new mods are in place before we put up the poll.
I hope that addresses all the issues.
One thing I would like to add: I have reopened this thread at the request of several users who wanted more discussion. Please use this opportunity to discuss any issues you might still have. Unless there turns out to be a lot of new issues that need clarification, I'm moving the close time to Saturday at 6PM board time.

Thanks LP.
I can see now a poll may be wanted and believe that it would be better to wait until after the mods come on. If only just incase there are big changes in social threads on the story forums we can so use the help.

What, exactly, are those guidelines? That's what I'm confused about... also, how much do we want the rules relaxed?

I hate to even ask, but I thought the idea of loosening socialzation on Resource was to help keep it out of story threads?

I'm with Leona. I tought they relaxed socialization on Resource to prevent it from being such a problem in the story threads. Is FG1 going to address the story boards as well? And I was also under the impression that the 5/25 was merely a guideline. I hate for it to become fixed in concrete. As a thread hostess I don't have time to sit and count how many on and off topic posts there have been.

Can I get a clarification on what constitutes socialization in story threads? Is it okay to chat about what you think is going to happen in a story or about how a character or situation or something was written, and it's just chatting about random, non-story things that's not allowed?
