I'm in complete agreement with Lexu. Whether some users like them or not, throwaway parody, quote, and other silly threads are one of the best things about the JCC for a lot of the community. They're not hard to post in, they're here and gone quickly, they're basically throwaway. Something you can jump in and out off when you don't have time to read three pages of a serious thread.

Yeah I'm not sure why anyone would disagree with this. There are few enough posts as it is. Let people have their parody fun. If their threads suck, then they suck and natural selection will kill them

Yeah, I don't see parody threads and silly stuff going away. It would kill the JCC, but when we get nine (or more than two sometimes) silly threads up and down the page, we call that a spree and start locking. I don't think that particular practice will kill the JCC. The reason we decided to allow parody threads is that some ARE funny and some people do them well - Rush was actually witty if there hadn't been a policy against and everyone hadn't jumped on the bandwagon - some don't and they tend to be the number 4 or number 5 person posting.

Yeah, a spree is a different thing. If it's dominating the first page, it's gotta be stopped. And maybe that is part of the fun, looking at all the locked parody threads together
