This thread can be used by you all to wrap up the planning of games that had already started in the other games thread.
Although that discussion is about finished now, we dont want to take away the opportunity for you guys to finish your game development, that is where this thread comes in.
Use this thread for the next couple of days until the forum becomes public. It'll then be either deleted or moved to somewhere else.

I am still rooting for a comicbook or superhero related game. But my creativity is lacking thanks to work lately.

Well, James, I was just suggesting a trivia game in the other thread for head-to-head matchups. Why not make a Comic-book related trivia game? You'd have like 500 preprepared questions and answers in your little box and you could host a match-up where players try to get the answers and awarded points like in Jeopardy or they can go for X's and O's like in Tic-Tac-Toe, etc. Could be fun, and you could geek out all day.
What do you think?

I'm willing to host a scavenger hunt or the scattergories game I mentioned in the other thread.
What's everyone's feelings on 10 participants signing up, and I compile a list of 50 things that can be found around the internet, and I pm the list to a mod or someone else to verify it. Then a list of clues is given to the participants that lead them to each of the 50 items. They are given X amount of time, to post in the thread what they have complied, in a single post. It can be tweeked to have a specific theme in mind or just 50 random things. The winner is whoever finds the most in the given time limit that is correct. In the event of a tie, a tie breaker hunt is given to break the tie.
The downside is that there's a high potential for ties, and its a little time consuming. But it could be really funny to see what people get from the clues.

So I couldn't ever get a clear answer. Do you guys think that the draft idea has enough merit/potential to start exploring it as a possibility (exploring public opinion on the matter, etc.), or should we just scrap it?

Sorry, but yes, I personally think it has potential in the JCC. It needs to be tweaked a little bit (make it faster, smaller teams for might do the trick) but I could work.
The draft is one of the ideas I had in my mind when I created this thread to further explore or develop certain games.

Sorry, I missed this at first.
I think 50 things would be a bit much. Problem is that certain items can be found on multiple sites so that can create some potential controversy. And why not limiting the search to TF.N?

If there can be a JC game in which I'm able to win/have the patience in playing, then I'd be all for it.

Hollywood squares would be a variation on Tic-Tac-Toe, but yes. In Hollywood squares, you had celebrities answering the questions and the player had to agree/disagree. While that could be a lot of fun, I think it'd be a nightmare logistically and would never be a spur-of-the-moment thing. On the other hand, just having a board with questions behind the x's and o's that users had to answer to get an x or an o would be quick and easy to set up--only need two players and the host to get the game going.

Got it.
As long as we don't have to call it something silly like Noughts and Crosses.

Just as a reference, the new trial draft games in C&G have been shortened in players and in number of characters on each team, but it still takes a month or two to do a short draft, and that's if the GMs/judges don't flake. I'd really urge all of you who are interested to check out the C or other drafts, maybe play a one to see how they work (since Prenn is the only draft guy, I think, who's posted here) before you try to adapt.

Sounds fine to me. I only gave a sort of bare bones type of thing.

Ok, so one of my judges isn't in this group anymore, but Harps and Brian, I'm wondering if there's a time we can chat on AIM or something about this, and pull Everton in too? Here's a general idea for how JCC Idol should work:
drawing on the show, the beginning will be just tryouts. people can submit video clips or just audio clips, with pictures if they like or not if they would rather not.
Anyway, after we pick from that group, we'll have our real competitors. then for a series of weeks (not sure how many, but a good number) we'll have a genre/artist they have to perform. I think the singing will be open for several days, then the voting for several days (by PM so it's secret).
Your jobs will be to commentate on the contestants But I also think each of you (and mayhaps myself ) should get to choose one of your favourite artists/genres as one of the week's themes. I've toyed with the idea of having other JCers as "celebrity judges", but I don't know exactly how that might work...
Not sure of an exact number of contestants, so we'll have to be kind of flexible on number of weeks and people voted out each week depending on that... I'm very curious to know if we find any good singers at all. Either way, hopefully it'll be fun
Thoughts? Particularly from Harps and Brian, but anyone is welcome to chime in.

Rachael, my only issue with it would be the musical choices.
Based on the top 100 albums, I wouldn't be able to sing 90% of them, never having heard of them before.
If you pick more general things like 70's, 80's, 90's like that, or rock, blues, country...
I could find something then.
(If I got over my embarrassment enough to do it.)
Acapella or accompanied?
