You picked up on that, did you?
I would be willing to host this game if there is a good number of interested participants. I don't know how hard it will be to get the celebrity guests to sign up since they wouldn't be playing for colors. But we'll see.

Use mods/VIPs as celebrity guests?

I'd volunteer as an upaid celebrity square!
That game kind of falls under the same style as the match game I'm finishing up now.
The timing was one challenge.
The other was to make sure that all the panel was answering legitimately, so the contestants had a chance to win the points.
That's why I reversed it, and made the celebrities get the points and have the contestants be mods that pre-sent their answers to me.
The difficult part of it still was the timing.
I would have loved Grant and Pulsie to be able to come and answer their own questions and banter a bit, but it would be difficult to get that timing right, when they would be around and me too.
Especially because my schedule has been a bit crazy lately with our team competition taking up a lot of my extra time, but I tried to get as close as I could to 24 hrs per question.
People are still saying they enjoyed it though, but I'll get some more feedback on what could be tweaked to make it better for another run...

Is my scavenger hunt idea a go or no go? I'm probably going to be on limited internet for the next few days (construction going on here, not sure if its going to affect phone or not, probably not, but its better to be safe than sorry).

I'd say everything is worth a try.
I think the feedback was to narrow it down a bit though somehow.

I know, what I gave was just a basic idea.

That is a good idea, actually. So what do I need to do to make this happen? And what do I need to tweak?

Personally, I really don't think the JCC needs more games.

I like games. It might be nice, though, if these games were spread out a bit, though. That way we can have things ongoing more of the time (particularly in the summer) and people's attentions won't be too divided. Plus, if half the JCC winds up being red at the same time, it's gonna be hella confusing

Completely disagree. There's what? Maybe 3 games going right now? People tend to gravitate towards certain games--the same 8-12 people play Million Colors every time, for example, with little deviation. More variety will give more people a chance to play. I don't see the big deal with having lots of games to choose from. Some games will get more attention than others, and that's ok.

I just don't see how adding another game will really do much of anything.

Perhaps it won't change anything. But how's it gonna hurt anything?

It "hurts" in the sense that it will be nothing but fluff, as the overall culture of the JCC simply won't be changed (it never has, as I see it), and, given some more years, I can imagine another focus group (around 2012, 2013 maybe) will come up with same conclusion about the JCC: add more games!

Well the only thing is, Brian, that in a game like JC Idol, theoretically a lot of people are involved as voters (like BB). So it's not just contestants.

Yeah, but, is it really the right kind of game for the JCC? People (rightfully in small aspects) complain/view the JCC as a high schoolish clique. A JCC idol game is the best idea that can be thought of?
