Welcome to the first non-annual YJCC-Senate Focus Group (includes free beer!)

About the free beer; I'm told it will arrive sometime around 2020. 
So, um, welcome. I'm willing to bet half of you don't know me, since I rarely venture out of the Senate. I'm Ender_Sai, and this was my idea so if it all goes pear shaped, remember I'm an Australian and we throw phones at people. Right, Hawk?
What I'd like you guys to do in here is mainly get to know a bit about each other. You know, the usual; where you're from, what you're doing at the moment (school, university, work etc), and some stuff you enjoy doing.
The reason we asked you here is because we're having a bit of difficulty with some stuff, and we would like to get an idea what you guys, as users, want to see happen. We can't promise we'll adopt each and every one of your ideas, but it helps us to get some advice from a user perspective, untainted by the bitterness that comes with moderating. 
Firstly, we want to know about serious discussion in YJCC, and how the Senate fits into all of this. It might be as simple as saying, "I don't go into the Senate because of X, Y and Z", or maybe because you've become pretty comfortable amongst your fellow users. From Senate guys, we'd want to know if you think having a higher redirection-from-YJCC rate would impact on the Senate Floor as a whole.
We also have some ideas we want to get your opinions on, because it's becoming apparent we're all - users and mods alike - forgetting we're part of the one community and so we should probably interact a little more. So we'll float our ideas by you on that front, to see how you feel about them.
So, finally, I want to thank you for showing your interest; it's hard for us as moderators and leaders to always know what's best, and so we really felt as a group we needed to step back and get a larger perspective, and that's where you guys and gals came into it. So yeah, enjoy your time here, especially since you get the "posted to a private message board" showing up on your post history.
