I think the JCC is bieng underestimated here, but I also think the Senate is being overestimated by the rest of the general JCC population. Definitely need to try and recruit new people. Hey guess what, I didn't offer anything useful! 1 up for me!

My only point is the same one that I have been trying to make all along.
Both forums need new blood to thrive, and the best way to ensure that is for both forums to try to work together and to break down the perception barriers between the forums. Without that, both forums will suffer.

But, I don't think you've recognized that new blood can't be forced, but only invited. So far as I can tell, you haven't mentioned the possibility that there simply aren't that many people interested in the Senate, and that it may just be that there isn't much new blood to be had, or that a lack of future new regulars is a possibility.

I thought that this thread was for "closing statements", not "ongoing debate".
Why don't you just make your closing statement, rather than try to continue debating things with me? It's not exactly secret that you don't really care for me, and that I don't really care for you. Why don't you just leave it alone, rather than continuing a personal grudge match no one cares about?

I merely made an observation. Nothing more. It wasn't personal in any way, except that it dealt with you. You're right that this is for closing statements, and I probably shouldn't have posted that. Still, there's no need to make more out of it than it was (which wasn't much).

I think we need to keep going. We've reached some good consensus but for us to make decisions as mods, we need to see how a sample YJCC thread would work with Senate posters. I can't create one; I don't post in YJCC and so I have no idea waht makes one.

Redirecting threads is the best possible solution, in my view.
Some will be interested in serious discussion, and others simply won't. The Senate is a distinct entity from the YJCC. Although we can spice things up a bit with 'sample' type threads in both forums, each forum deserves its own distinct identity.
By its nature, the Senate will be a smaller venue than the YJCC, but that doesn't mean that it won't land new quality and ongoing posters if they are directed to the proper venue for Senate-type discussions.
