He was killed by Darth Moola.

I'd also like to mention that Lucas himself owns a very large share of Hasbro, so not only is he making money off the lisences, but he's making money off the money that Hasbro brings in from the lisences.

I love WotC. The Star Wars RPG is about as good as it gets when talking about RPGs. But Star Wars TCG reminds me of the Jedi Knights CCG that Decipher made and I couldn't get into that either. Star Wars CCG felt like playing the movie with cards. It wasn't easy, but there was a level of satisfaction seeing Darth Vader freeze Luke in carbonite and then shuttling him to the Emporer before turning him to the dark side.

I played the CCG from the first release of Hoth till the end. I'm still pissed that Decipher lost the rights. I tried the TCG and cried it was so bad. The CCG was great because of the strategy that it involved. It required players to be intelligent and mature. The TCG amounted to little more than getting lucky with dice rolls. This made the game inviting to the little kids that were into the Pokemon CCG. I'd had enough bad experiences with those kids to know that they were the type to stay away from.
Meanwhile, I still have all my cards. Every single set. Unfortunately, there's no players left in my region. However, one of my friends and I developed an internet version of the CCG so we still occasionally play.

Greetings, blokes.
Technically speaking, the game never went anywhere. There's been a legion of devoted fans that continue playing it to this day. There's even still World Championships with prize support. Granted, the companies involved in creating it stopped supporting it, but the players have been carrying it along through the years. Heck, it'll even outlive Wizards' lame TCG version. Go figure... heh...

Oh hell yeah, the SWCCG is the greatest card game on the planet. It sucks major a** that decipher lost the rights, but there is nothing that WoTC can make that will make me stop playing. I will stop playing when i am dead, till then screw the other card games out there. If some one wants to take my cards then it will be over my dead body.
Is there any one on here from the tri-cities or yakima areas of Washington state?

I agree, I'm never getting rid of my cards. Decipher's game was awesome, they should get the rights back. It's obvious that the new game isn't selling.

The WotC game is currently suspending creating cards and selling.
But, its super naieve to even think Decipher would get the license back.

This is the best topic I love it when people throw large amounts of animal waste at WOTC they deserve it after putting an end to my favorite game . Please keep it going . From what I have been told from inside sources Lucas arts & Decipher didn't go there own seperate ways on friendly terms with each other & still dislike oneanother half a decade later more than ever . So the odds of decipher getting the license back is extreemly thin . Star wars card games will live & die with WOTC . Who knows maybe WOTC will get a brain flash & buy the rights to the decipher game mechanics for the star wars ccg . Who Knows .

I hope not. It's bad enough they drug SW's name through the mud. Giving WOTC control of SW:CCG's mechanics would be like giving a complex piece of fragile machinery to a child.

On the other hand, if they start making crap cards like the virtual cards, then they might as well not get it back, because the game was balanced before the virtual cards. Sure, some rares sucked. But you're not supposed to get a rare as powerful as Darth Vader in every pack. Like Card_Dreamer said, "ewwww =P." You said it brotha.

Decipher does not produce the Virtual Cards. The Players Committee does.
Please tell me why you dislike the virtual cards so much? (and in an actually mature, intelligent way, not just "ewwwww =P")

It's a long shot but it would be cool if Decipher could get the license back. But it seems like the minis game by Wizards is pretty popular, so I doubt it.
But I like seeing that this "dead" game is still kicking. I'm a fan of old CCGS and wish Overpower still had this audience.
