The work itself wasn't that hard, but I've been on the go since just after New Years (aside from a week off in March), but I haven't even had a weekend to myself since then. I wanted to take a month off now & just relax, but another job's already come up and I might have to jump right back on soon. Ah well. At least this one's only 4 days on/ 3 days off.

as some may have noticed in the play-by-post adventure, I refer to some beings as popcorn.
How did this come about...
Well, there was a board game called GammaRauders. Loosely based on the RPG GammaWorld, with a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor and satire added in.
In this world, giant mutant animals have cybernetics grafted to them to turn them into combat monsters (litterally, not munchkin-like). In the history provided, the first encounter with one included a report from the front lines of conventional troops "It's wading through us like popcorn." The name stuck, much to the chagrin of the professional soldiers and pilots.
And thus it spread to the other games we played...
Sometimes I even used popcorn armed with toothpicks for minatures...

They wear green now. The patients find it more soothing... 
or so I've been told. 
Besides, this was 10 years ago. and it's not like I painted the toothpicks silver or green or red... 
Oh wait, yes I did...

OK, this is annoying: twice today I've been in the middle of typing up posts or PMs on this board, and my computer locks up for no discernable reason.

heh, i use notepad and just hit ctrl & s every sentence ish.
Tell you what though, I think it's because I'm using the PC Beta version of Apple's Safari browser, but it doesn't like including all my text in my posts. So I have to have it on the clipboard before I post or it Kark's up. It's seriously getting on my nerves now.

Why on earth would you use an apple program on a PC?
That's like using Illustrator when you have the option of using CorelDraw. Just doesn't make sense.
Oh wait, I can see this re-opening once again the old Mac vs PC argument.
Makes me want to get a Cray to back up my Amiga.

Green? I thought they went black to scare their patients more...
oh and as to the posting problems, my solution was to after every one or two paragraphs select the whole message and click copy. that way if it messed up i could just re post a click paste

While fear and intimidation might help with some, it made the paranoid more difficult to deal with, because they figured it was part of the conspiracy. Also, it seemed to retard treatment of the simpler cases.
(Are we taking this joke too far?  Naaaaah!
Problem is that it wasn't the browser that was freezing up, it was my whole computer. Only way to get it back was to hard reboot, which emptied the buffer.

I am GM for a five person group of players. We used to play D&D until our DM moved away about a year ago. He used to put us into LONG drawn out, multi-session adventures that frankly got pretty trying by the end to hold our interest. I am new to GMing and the SW RPG and I have some questions...
How do people generally play the game? As GM, i have been coming up with a dozen or so "missions" at a time that are relayed to the players in game via the "holonet" that they can pick and choose at their leisure. When the dozen or so jobs are complete, i make up some more! Is this a common practice or are the long drawn out stories more the norm? Additionally, we play in the Legacy era (137aby) and i have to transpose all the vehicle/droid/weapon stats to vehicles/droids/weapons prevelant in that timeline. Are there any resources online, perhaps something i could print off, for playing in that era? We only get about four hours a week to play (if that) and i have found the short missions (usually consisting of starfighter escorts, cargo/passenger hauling, bounty hunting, and a little piracy here and there) keep my players more actively engaged. Again, is this the norm or do people more often opt for the long drawn out missions?
Any help or suggestions for the beginner GM would be appreciated.
