Jedi_Matt posted: Berx, I've actually kept lurking on the boards when I can because I miss it lots. I hope I can get back into things just as the SE game kicks off. Are you that deep into the planning that you have in mind starting levels?
Yeah, if you check http://www.setbb.com/erpg/ you'll see I posted preliminary campaign info, along with the starting level. I'm hoping to get it going by January, so you have plenty of time to come up with a character. Invite's open to anyone who'd like to check it out, but be warned: I run a pretty fast game, so checking it more than once a week will be necessary.
(Also read the character creation info)
On a completely different topic... when it rains it pours. I just got offered another job - my old job, in fact. The one I quit, because something closer to home came up. I'm seriously torn as to whether I should keep the one I have (pay's decent, and it's close to home, hours are awesome, but I have to put up with kids all day) or the other job (farther from home, crappy hours, but excellent pay... and no kids)

It's only Dec 2, and I, for one, am sick to death of Christmas.
OK, a long-standing gripe that I interminablly (so it seems) go on about is having Christmas merchandice in the stores before the end of summer. My argument is, "If you have X-mas stuff on the shelves before the end of September, you aren't allowed to complain about the poor holiday sales in December." Only fair. Christmas shopping should not begin until after Thanksgiving (or the 4th Thursday of November for those of you lucky enough not to live in the US).
Now, to exacerbate this, my wife got into a tissy. She's the sort of person, who if sent to a Sci Fi convention to sing the praises of Star Trek (something she would not be inclined to do), she would do so with such fervor that even the most die-hard treckie would race home to burn their Vulcan ears over a bonfire of Klingon Dictionaries. Can we say "obsessive"? In short, she decided to do her shopping early in November (in spite of my much-voiced opinion).
Today, we had to put baskets together and buy wrapping paper and cards and packaging for the people we were mailing to and... and... and...
You can imagine how thrilled I feel.
How about those of you out in the world of less petty matters? Anyone else with anything similar? Anything contradictory?

I won't have any money till mid December, so I'll miss the sales
Luckily my family has agreed to tone everything down, no over-spending for Christmas.

Yeah, that's good. People go a little nutty at Christmas time.
Anyway, I got another job. This one's out of town, so I don't know how that'll affect my posting habits. Incase I'm gone awhile, then... peace!

Agreed. I did a rant on the topic at the Sentate Inter-Faith Chapel called "the 'War' on Thanksgiving?"

Belated "Happy Solstace" to everyone. May you enjoy whichever of the many numerous holidays you celebrate at this time of year.
I, for one, will not miss the over-crowded parking lots, the vulturing for parking spaces, or the extremely cranky shoppers that have been the bane of the last few weeks. Seems most people I've run into have forgotten the point of the holiday they claim to be celebrating. Oh well.

Same here to everyone -- happy holidays! Merry Christmas, happy Kwanzaa, have a nice New Year's, and whatever else is going on. (And I guess, dp4m, happy Chanukah?)
(Steer clear of the grumpy Wal-Mart shoppers!)

Gotten 4-5 WOTC D&D books over the past couple of weeks, because they are so marked down. Not playing, but I like browsing through them sometimes.

Well, it's long overdue, and there's a whole soap-opera, as you can well imagine, but I'm pleased to announce that I filed for Divorce today!
Can't tell you how great it feels!
One of my friends sent me a youtube link to the execution scene of Braveheart.
Another suggested & offered to host a high-alchohol yield party.

I'm going to be bloody MARVELOUS!
Best thing that's happened in over 2 years.
There's a long, long, LONNNNnnnnng version that anyone who wants can PM me for, but I'll spare the general population of readers all the gory details.
Knowing that there will at long last be an end is a major relief.
Just because all devorces are painful, tortuous ordeal doesn't mean that they're always bad.
With luck, it will all be over August 14th.
