What's new... Well, if you check back the last page or so if this thread you'll see my big news...
Started GMing StarWars with gamers--have a chance to use some of those ideas I've been posting. Last week the party got mugged by Ranats while chasing down a possible snitch. 12 Ranats, all with 2D str and 3D dex, only 4 of them had clubs (STR+1D or in this case 3D damage). Incapacitated 1/2 of the party. On round 3, three unarmed Ranats (who had been picking pockets like mad) broke and ran (the one's still alive) while the two who still had clubs tried to hold off the melee combat beast and the smuggler with the blaster. The clubbers bought it, and the melee beast chased the others down the alley. Smuggler got one of them with a pot-shot. Melee beast ripped apart another with a vibroblade. Last ranat scurried down a tunnel. Rather than follow him (and thus the thread of the side adventure), combat beast throws a grenade down the hole, botches (D'OH) and gets a complication His final grenade throwing roll was a 1. The grenade went off underneath him. He botched his STR roll to resist and got mortally wounded.
After all the adventures, stealing fighters, smashing pirates, breaking into a star destroyer to rescue a prisoner, etc, the party half-incapacitated and had a fatality from a dozen ranat muggers.

I'll probably give it a try. I like most of what I've seen; the more simplified and streamlined the game system is, the better, and my players are anxious to play 4E. So well, I guess we are switching.
This is also the perfect excuse to destroy 3.5  and play more non-orthodox games. I got some "steampunk meets Eberron meets Call of Cthulhu" and "Skulls & Bones meets Medieval Player's Handbook meets Urban Arcana" sessions ready to rumble.

Thats an interesting point because I have a campaign I always wanted to do where SW meets D&D.
Jedi padawan stranded on Krynn. Ok...go! That would be awesome if 4th made that possible.
