	Well, I just got the newer, faster internet connection, though for 90% of what I do, it won't make much difference (if any). AT&T Universe package if anyone cares. No, I'm not advertising, endorsing, or recommending. Working on learning maya. Now that I've built an arena of death pit, I need to build a couple of gladiator types to fight it out. They're in-progress. I have a lot to learn about characters, but figure it's a start, regardless. Anyone have plans for their easter/spring breaks? (if you even get one?) I'm doing homework. 	Well, the patch/updates for Age of Conan caused my computer to ignore info feed from mouse & keyboard, forcing me to hard reboot. Hopefully it's just the once and some schmuck's idea of an April Fools joke. 	Hello everybody, as you have probably already realized I have lately begun invading your games-board. A long time gamer (yeah, I mean I am old) and active player even today I find a lot of interesting thoughts here. I also am a regular player on the RPF. Having run several games there and enjoyed many roles. Lately, for the last half a year or so many people over there have asked for a system-based game. We were always pointed here, with the comment this would be the place to do so. My revolutionary idea was . . . then let´s do it there. Jedi_Dajuan has greenlighted the project yesterday and have begun developing a game that will contain roleplay as we are used to it on the RPF and is based on the d6 rules the same time. I only wanted you to know and invite everybody to eventually join, if they are curious. 	RPF is pretty free-form, without much in the way of game mechanics or rules beyond basic courtesy of "don't kill the other players just because you think you're uebercool". 	RPF is free-form other than ground rules like no sex or emoting ridiculous things like pulling a Transformer/Star Destroyer out of your pocket and saying it steps on everyone. With no system its much more co-operative storytelling. Adding RPG rules to such a thing would essentially make it a RPG played on the boards. I assume if you're going to do it with RPF-experienced people it would be very rules lite (at least at first) Take a look at some of the threads. They are usually very creative. RPF isnt really for me, I'm not a good actor and I'm a bred Gamer. I think if you got into it, you'd find it much more dialogue/rp heavy rather than roll-the-dice/yay combat.

	Well I think it will be both. Actually that is the way we have played RPG around the table for two centuries (yeah, we are THAT old) and the way we will do it here. Dices have long found there way into forum games. Look at Sainthearts D&D RPG in the NSWRPF. It is completely dice-based. And has a story. We have done this ourselves for long years, using dices "in the background" while playing out the scenes in the forum. The only thing we´ll change will be . . . post our throws and apply all rules. Will this be a dicing orgy? Nope. For those who think games are not about story, dialogue or atmosphere this might not be what they are searching for. For those who think all of it in one and brought to life through the d6 system is an adventure worth a try . . . feel welcome. As this is time-intensive and pretty hard to pull of, we´ll have a player cap. 	All of a sudden the other day, WoTC had drivethrurpg and other sites that sell RPG books in PDF form take all their stuff down. They said they did it because the PDFs get bought, then shared all over the net (piracy) If this doesn't make sense, it doesn't. Claim to be loosing money via piracy, but then shutting down the only legal way to obtain the product? They filed lawsuits against 8 people they accuse of sharing some PDFs The RPG community is upset because: 1) PDFs are getting popular at the gaming table, people want them. Especially people in foreign countries where they don't sell the hardcovers. Now there's no legal way to get them 2) Suing people for file sharing? C'mon WoTC...the music industry tried this, failed, and found alternatives. Get with the times. 3)They gave no notice before having the stuff pulled. People who had legally paid for the pdfs did so with the understanding that they could re-download if they needed to. Lot of people lost stuff they had purchased 4)They didn't only pull recent stuff, but everything WoTC now owns...going all the way back to 1st edition D&D. There's no legal way to obtain that old stuff anymore other than used bookstores or ebay. Shame, because that's a lot of history and there's a lot of gamers now going back to old editions 5) Its the latest in a long line of PR blunders by WoTC in the last few years. For many its the last straw and are swearing off buying anything from them again One cool thing, as soon as they did it all the smaller indie RPG companies started offering discounts on their PDF stuff, catering to the people who are pissed off at WoTC Mostly the fiasco applies to D&D, but since they do Star Wars it can have an effect on that eventually.
