Does anyone use OpenRPG? Apparenly it's a open source piece of software that lets you play d20 RPGs over the internet
Sounds awesome to me. But I've booted it up a couple times, updated JAVA and whatnot (setup isnt the easiest) and was faced with all these options and stuff. I'd read the manual but its easier to ask here.
Does it work? Can you actually do the tabletop experience via the internet? Does it let you enforce the rules, or is it more chatty program relying on trust? How easy would it be for and experienced RPGer. but less computer literate, to learn?
If its a good program, I figure the best way would be to play while doing. If anyone is using it and has something going, let me know if you want a casual player. I can do d6 Star Wars, any d20 game, GURPs, or whatever else if you wanna spend extra time helping me figure out the rules.

I've never heard of it, but it sounds promising. I may have to check it out when things get less hectic for me.

I've used it. It works.
The only complaint I've had is that people respond way too slowly, and hardly anything gets done. *shrug* might be just my group, though.

there was a thread ages ago about internet rpg's, and i suggested openrpg, i think it's awesome, but it's greatly under used, which sucks. only few times ive been on there, there's been a server full of AFK-ers and DBZ fanboys, while i dont mind DBZ, i don't want an rpg for it. Or talk to people who argue over goku fighting vegeta, or whether goku would be stronger if he didnt hit his head or whatever blahblah blah
i played star wars on there once, D6 with a couple of other people, we stored our character sheets on there, and had a few good sessions, basically torturing a jedi to make him succumb to the dark side, instead he spent a FP on a persuade roll, turned the dark apprentice against his master, the master rolled a 1 on the wild die and slipped on something, and got slashed across the chest.
Anyway, i think open rpg is great, it's practically all set up nicely... seeing as you can have maps on there and icons,

As little experience as I have with it (basically looking at all the functions available), OpenRPG is great for online roleplaying. The only problem is that I don't yet have a gaming group... (I tried getting one together but I was too flexible, and it simply broke in its organizational stages)
