It would seem so if not for 2 things:
1) Save 6. I cannot recall ever failing a save 6. Sure it's possible, but highly unlikely.
2) Replaces turn. You'd better hope they fail that save, because if not, your ass is grass. If you don't wipe out that huge, he gets a totally free shot.

Also, does anybody who already has some of the minis want to post some of the better stats for us unfortunate souls who live oversees and have to wait for shipping? Because that'd be swell.

If you could post Vader's Apprentice, Redeemed and Obi-wan Unleashed, that'd be great! Also, any stats that you thought were particularlly good, i'd love to see them.

I am in need of help! I have encountered a squad that I have been unable to defeat, despite my best efforts. It may be that I am just inept, but this squad seems resistant to EVERYTHING I throw at it.

The "Thrawn Squad"
300 points
Stormtrooper x16
Stormtrooper officer x2
Felucian stormtrooper officer x2
Storm Commando x1
Imperial officer x3
Dark trooper x2
Grand moff Tarkin x1
General Veers x1
Grand admiral Thrawn x1

The commanders in this squad give a 5 point stormtrooper 27(with cover) defense and +10 attack. The storm commando with the imperial officers giving him 3 extra attacks per turn, is enough to handle most unique characters. Thrawn gives automatic initiative and force immunity. I have tried grenades, flamethrowers, strafing, sniping, super stealth, ect, but nothing works.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

Is your nemesis stacking commander effects? Because I thought you could only use one commander effect at a time...? That should make things a little easier if they can only have one commander effect in effect at a time.

No, identical commander effects, like the two stormtrooper officers, do not stack. Different commander effects like the stormtrooper officer's (+3 attack) and the felucian stormtrooper officer's (+8 defense in cover), are both in play at the same time though. Not to mention the extra officers provide a backup if I kill one of them.

yeah, commander effects don't stack if they affect the same ability (attack, defense etc.) But special abilities with different names do stack, so that can be fun.

That team doesn't have a Vader on it? What is he swapping with Thrawn?

Swapping with Thrawn? I'm not exactly sure what you mean. However Vader, Imperial Commander may end up being added to the squad. His commander effect would stack with Thrawn's, correct? (+6 def and +3 def,+3 attack)

Oh, and after taking a good look at the Legacy booster I would have to say that Luke is on the front, with Marasiah Fel, Cade Skywalker and Wolf Sazen down the side.

I noticed there isn't a Mas Amedda in the squad, so he won't be swapping anything with thrawn. (look at his CE, he can "swap" 2 characters at the end of his turn.) So all of the CE's in this squad are within 6 squares. Unless you forgot to add Mas in the list.

The stormies in this squad do NOT have a +10 attack, Thrawn and Storm Officer CE's do NOT stack because they boost the same stat.
Also, Vader's and Thrawn's CE's do NOT stack for the same reason. They both add to the defense stat, so vader's would be the one they get.
CE's that grant _abilities_ (like Advantageous cover) do stack with CE's that just grant a bonus, like thrawn's +3 def.

Options for squads to play against him:

Republic SS-which you say you've played.

Rebel SS-
Rebel Commando Strike Leader
Rebel Commandos-gain grenades 20
Golan Turret-Splash 10 (even when you miss) may be huge for killing those pesky stormies, and DR 10 means you'll last longer.
R2PO and Juno give Disruptive, which could be big against super troopers, and R2PO can Draw Fire as well.
Han Rogue-Thrawn loses init control, with Acc Shot and Evade.
Jango BH-Missiles
Boba BH-Evade, twin, etc make him hard to take down
Chewie Rebel Hero can Bodyguard (probably Juno), maybe add 2-1B to Heal Chewie

Could play Separatists: (I'd play this one)
Wat Tambor-Droid Mark the Viper first (each round). Bodyguard Droid with his reinforcements.
X-1 Viper
Lobot-(bring in Muun Tactics Broker with his reinforcements, Thrawn loses init.)
Super Battle droid Commander
General Grievous, Supreme Commander
Battle Droid Officer (or two)
Maybe a Droid Starfighter/Hailfire droid for Missiles.
R5 Astromech for repair
lots of Battle Droids/ugnaughts to sacrifice for the MTB.
Add a Destroyer Droid for Shields and a Double attack of 20 each time (+8 base, +4 Fire Control (not a CE), +4 Grievous, +4 Careful Shot), now 27 defense doesn't seem so hard to hit.

Another thing I forgot to mention, make sure the Storm Commando doesn't get "Deadeye" with the Imp Officer extra attack. Deadeye is only on Storm Commando's turn.

Give me your thoughts on this squad/battle plan:

Mara Jade, Jedi (45)
Garm Bel Iblis (45)
Lobot (27)
Jacen Solo (25)
Jaina Solo (25)
Princess Leia, Rebel Hero (14)
Gonk Power Droid (12)
Uggie x 2 (6)

Reinforcements:
Bring Dr Evazan and a Human Force Adept with Lobot and two Rebel Troop Carts (RTC)with Garm.

The Plan:
One of the first things you need to do is damage Leia with Dr Evazan, then put her and Jacen in one RTC. That will give Jacen a +20 damage on all his attacks. Mara and the Gonk will share the other RTC. Gonk Mara as needed to give her Double Attack. Mara and Jacen won't be able to take advantage of Garm's commander effect while on the RTCs, but I think it's a good sacrifice. They can always be taken off later.

Once the Human Force Adpet dies and you want to Unleash the Force with Jacen, take him off the RTC if possible. Otherwise he'll kill the RTC and Leia. If done right, you can use Leia's commander effect to move two each time he defeats someone moving his radius of destruction with him for a "Mom Bomb" or "Lawnmower of Death" move. Eventually Leia will be out of Jacen's circle of destruction and won't take any damage.

I haven't play tested this yet, but if played right it could do some serious damage.

Hey Fallen Fan, have you seen the D&D mini Underdark #4 Githzerai Monk? I think it looks like a Falleen, and could be a custom fig for you. We're gonna check our LGS this weekend for other D&D minis that may double as SWM customs.
