I've been running a prequel-era game for years now (we've gone from pre-TPM up to post-ROTS by now), and I've had vast numbers of cameos from established characters. Being a very Jedi-centric campaign, there've been many occasions wherein players have gone before the Jedi council; the Jedi characters also fought on Geonosis (conveniently out of range of the cameras, no doubt). Count Dooku showed up a time or two--he had been established in one character's backstory as a former tutor of lightsaber combat (prior to leaving the Order) and later tried to lure that character to the dark side. On occasion, the characters briefly met with then-Chancellor Palpatine (another character in the group having served for a time in the Senate) and several prominent Senators. Bail Organa has also been established as a distant relative of that particular character (the Senator).

The cameos have been coming hot and heavy of late: we're in the post-ROTS timeframe, and the Jedi characters (having survived Order 66) have attracted the attentions of Vader and the Emperor. There was even a brief lightsaber duel between Vader and one of the Jedi, which was cut short when another character zapped Vader with her ship's ion cannon (at which point I decided that Vader was debilitated by all his cybernetics being fried, so the troopers of the 501st evacuated him--presumably resulting in a repeat of the end of ROTS, as Vader basically had to be reconstructed all over again).

The group also briefly stopped over on Naboo, meeting Sio Bibble and Queen Apailana. They were present as the 501st blasted the Queen and her other Jedi allies, and narrowly escaped the Imperial takeover. (I freely admit that I was feeling lazy that week, and since the players obligingly headed for Naboo of their own volition, I happily dropped them into a level from Battlefront II rather than spending time coming up with an original idea.)

On a side note, the 501st has becoming a recurring opposing force for the players--sensible, since Vader is hunting them down. I've had great fun working up beefier stats for 501st Stormtroopers (they being hardened veterans of the Clone Wars and all)... it's fun to see my players yawning at the idea of 'Stormtroopers again' and then seeing the boredom turn to horror as they realize just how hard these 501st blokes are.

As of right now, the Emperor himself is trying to lure the characters into coming to him (obviously intending to either turn them or destroy them)...

Wow... what did you do with Luke in your game to develop such a trauma?

I had one of my FS players meet Luke and it didn`t create any problems....

They were meant to be Jedi aprentices without master in the Rise Of The Empire era and started to make lightsabre practices in Hoth´s hangar with Luke staring at them.
I know it doesn´t look so important, but my players were starting to go funny on the situation. You know saying funny things such "I know who your father is,hu,hu" and so on.It wasn´t what they did,but what they could have done...
That day I determined no more guest stars. But it was 7 or 8 years ago.Now maybe I´d introduce anyone again.

Yoda made an appearance.
Pre prequel campaign (1994). One of the party was force-sensative. They were tracking down the senior deciple of a mandalorian who was recruiting from the University of Alderan. One of the mandalorian's other students was helping them. Yoda took the student on as an apprentice. The party-member had to grin & bear it.

Captain Governor JeJerrod was trying to blackmail the senior admiral into getting him a cushier new assignment. Jejerrod was promised one, along with the promotion to Moff (though he was going to have to relocate to a moon orbiting Endor, it was a highly prestigious career posting...)

R5-D4 blew a motivator when the party bought an R4 model instead of him at a used droid lot.

Party rescued Grand Moff Tarkin's pet, Admiral Ackbar, from the ISD Avenger's detention block.

Party was witness to Salacious Crumb's antics at Quenn Space station and Jabba's adoption of Crumb.

During "Tatooine Manhunt", one of the party traded information on Han Solo to some of the bounty hunters in exchange for information on the person they were looking for. "He'll be at the Spotted Bith cantina on Ord Mantel in 2 weeks at 3pm local time."

Merk -- weren't those some of Luke's ORIGINAL students from Marvel?

Half-right. I acutally mis-remembered the name of one guy though. The guy I thought was Chiido is actually

Kiro of Iskalon is from the Marvel series

Noirah Na (either wookiepedia has her name wrong or I'm going senile) is from the 2-part arc from Dark Horse set in the aftermath of Order 66. In my campaign, Luke went ahead and trained Kiro, and Na was persuaded by Master Skywalker to complete her training after years of being in hiding.

As a couple of "behind the scenes" cameos, the PCs' Master (human Scoundrel 2/Jedi Guardian 4/Jedi Investigator 3) studied briefly under Masters Kai Hudorra and Das Jennir before they were killed by Lord Vader on New Plympto.

I kept thinking that I've never really had any since my only big games to date have been either an NJO Jedi game and an AU game where the players are the canon characters themselves. But then I remembered a very shortlived online game that took place in the early days of the Rebellion. That's were I got this gem.

A PC pilot on his first day got involved in a pilot's lounge-based Sabacc game against Garven Dreis, Wedge Antilles, Keyan Farlander, and Ru Murleen. Surprisingly enough, Ru kept winning the majority of the games, and I don't think the PC won one at all.

I set my game up JA-style, and the PC's are going to get their missions from Mas Amedda (It starts a week or two before the Battle of Geonosis.) The only other "special guests" are the Jedi council members (Mace in particular.) Adi Gallia (the Jedi PC's master.) and Dooku (on Geonosis.)

I am currently working on an Imperial Campaing where the players will be trained as some of the first Storm Commandos, so naturaly Crix "The Beard" Madine will be around in grey uniform trainig them, but will leave a short time later after graduation.

I will probably throw in some high ranking Imperial giving out missions from time to time... just for kicks.

Tonight's session will be chock full o' guest stars. One of the PCs is going to partake in the effect of one of Master Skywalker's policies: he always has a Padawan as a temporary member of the Jedi Council. Sometimes it's only for a single session, sometimes longer, but the only prerequisite is that the Padawan have the Sense feat, "trust your feelings" and all. He started doing this because of (A) his lessons from Yoda extolling the virtues of a "beginner's mind," and (B) to both instill confidence in apprentices and weed out arrogance & complacency in the Council members. The other members of the Jedi Council are:

Luke Skywalker, Grand Master of the Order
Leia Organa-Solo, liason to the Alliance of Free Planets
Teris Kel, Head of Intelligence (a PC from a previous campaign, now the current PCs' Master)
Tionne, Master of the Archives
Kyle Katarn, combat instructor
Kam Solusar
Cilghal
Streen
Dorsk 81
Corran Horn
Lyn-Me Oolas (another PC from a previous campaign)

Part of the Council session will include a report from Master Organa-Solo pertaining to ongoing diplomatic efforts with the Hapes Consortium, who are under attack from Warlord Zsinj. The PCs will be sent to investigate why Keyan Farlander has gone missing.

The trap has been sprung.

The PCs were basically working for the Separatists through Passel Argente, the head of the Corporate Alliance, setting up a smuggling network to get small-scale shipments to isolated Sep outposts and the like. They got fairly chummy with Argente's chief military advisor/protege, the Mon Cal military genius Commander Merai. They've been enjoying the fruits of this alliance for a little while now.

Of course, the players hadn't read SW: Republic #50, where it is revealed that Argente has been planning a coup against Dooku, and has been grooming Merai to head up the Sep military when he (Argente) comes to power. Argente pushes Merai into committing his forces to a major assault on Kamino, which will cripple the Republic war effort and provide the Argente/Merai faction with enough support to topple Dooku.

Or so he thinks, anyway. Dooku, not being born yesterday, knows all about the coup plotting, and works with Sidious to ensure that the Kamino assault fails and Argente loses backing and credibility, which, of course, is what happens.

Now, we know from Episode III that Argente survives and remains an important member of the Separatist Council up until the very end of the war. Since Dooku isn't known to be especially forgiving, I figured that once his plan fell apart, Argente must have grovelled like all hell to get back in Dooku's good graces, and he probably offered up a fall guy as a sacrificial pawn, someone he could blame the whole thing on.

Enter the PCs.

They've spent quite some time now living large on Argente's generous backing, completely unaware of the fact that their immediate contact person and supervisor within the Separatist hierarchy was making a play for the top seat, and, of course, they only found out after he failed, and they realized in the middle of a delicate mission to Hutt Space that someone inside the Separatist hierarchy was setting them up to fail.

Imagine their horror as they realized that simply by being associated with Argente they were now marked as traitors by Count Dooku. They had no idea what was going on, but they've been framed so well they're now desperately looking for a fall guy of their own they can drag in front of Dooku for a chance to clear their own names.

Oh, and of course, they totally blew the mission to Hutt Space, and they ended up making an enemy of Aruk the Hutt in the process and getting imprisoned. They only got out by promising an agent of Black Sun they would try to infiltrate the Separatist hierarchy for them once they cleared their names....

So, to sum up, Passel Argente set them up as the fall guys for his own failed coup attempt. In the process of extricating themselves from the mess Argente threw them into, they became indebted to Black Sun. Now they are trying to clear their names with the Separatists, by framing someone else, so they can worm their way back into the Separatist leadership as double agents working off their debt to Black Sun.

Oh, yeah, and one of the characters was secretly working for the Bothan Spynet the whole time, and so he's stuck being a triple agent. He's in a total panic trying to figure out if he should be a Bothan agent pretending to be infiltrating the Seps for Black Sun, or a Black Sun agent pretending to be infiltrating the Seps for the Bothans. Of course, if any of the people he's working for find out what a little weasel he's being, his life expectancy could be very short indeed. I doubt the rest of the party would be happy he's been keeping this from them - even the other players don't know, much less their characters.

Of course, the Bothans only recruited him in the first place so they could help him get to a high-ranking position with the Seps, making him more attractive as a potential recruit for Black Sun, hoping that Black Sun would approach him so they could use him to infiltrate them and find out the identity of the new Underlord. Confused yet?

Man, they are screwed.

And man do WEG characters get screwed over these days. I'd much rather read about Tremayne and Platt than another gorram scene with Saba or Jae and the ewok.
