Hiya
I´ve got in my game a defel pc and I haven´t very clear how to use his special invisibility under normal light in the game. How much do they add to their hidding checks.I also have the Ultimate Alien Anthology and I don´t see it very clear.
Cheers!!!!

I haven't got my UAA handy either, but in the WEG game they get a +3d bonus to sneak, equivalent to a +9 bonus to hide. I can't remember exactly how it plays out, but i think they bend light, like predators cloaking devices.
Actually I just checked wookiepedia, they're known as 'living shadows'

Have fun. Disable the visor!
Without it the DC is upped for all sight based actions, though they do have the blindfighting ability automatically in the WEG game

As far as our group was concerned, they were all-black shadowy creatures with no distinct features. Excellent at sneaking arround in the dark (something like +2D), but stuck out in any brightly-lit area (-2D) or if there was UV lighting (-4D). Once, in a cantina, the light system strobed through the visible spectrum and beyond. Suddenly, in the middle of a shootout, the Defel in the party who was trying to sneak up on an Imp office to shoot him was glowing in flourescent pinks and reds. Everyone took instant notice... He settled for tacking the Imp and ripping him to shreds with claws.
Some people have said Defels are invisible because they don't reflect light. I don't think so--that would be transparent. More that they are totally black because they don't reflect light. Plus Wookies and other species with strong olfactory capacity would be able to smell the Defels, thus giving them a bonus for detecting them.

+6 or +9 to hide roles in dark areas (shadows)
-6, -9, or -12 for light areas/UV lighting. (or plus whatever to spot checks)
