Wait, wait...WAIT!!! You mean to tell me, with a straight face, that there are things you CAN'T do in an RPG? That's just crazy. Last weekend alone my entire party of Heroes rode our astromechs into battle with seventy-five Stormtroopers shouting "All hail Caesar!"
And you're telling me we shouldn't have been able to do that?!

Sounds amusing. Did you have to make Droid-riding rolls?

No, just riding rolls. One player WAS a Magnaguard with NO ride skill. He couldn't roll high enough to keep on his droid, so another character with a high mechanics skill spot welded the poor guy onto the thing. It was all fun and games until combat actually came up and he couldn't get off his "mount" because everyone else was fighting and didn't take the time to cut him off. I think he lasted about three rounds before he got diced by a dark Jedi. It was blissful.
