Hello all, I've been thinking of getting into SWM. I've posted to some of the nearest Fan Force chapters, but was wondering if there is an easy way to find and contact players by region, a la the system used by WizKids on their Heroclix line. Any help would be really appreciated!

Try putting up flyers at your local hobby/comix stores.
Also try libraries, Jr Colleges, & Universities.
Usually there is some sort of gaming club, or at least a few other people/private groups interested in Games, RPGs, etc, and they are almost always looking for new players.

As for an online resource: I think it would be a good idea, but I don't know of any.
I could see a definate advantage to www.gamersgeeks.com (or something like that) and registering yourself as interested & available for RPGs, Computer Games, Minis/Boardgames, LARPS, etc. Even let you specify which ones. I just don't know of such a site, and it would have to be administered by someone. Contact handled by PM similar to TF.N. Spread info on the site by Word-o-mouth, email, and convention flyers.
Anyone want to give it a try?

WOTC website, despite being a bastion for poor English, has that kind of networking resource. Otherwise, put up signs at your FLGS.

This forum on Wizards is pretty good for finding other people in your area. Search to see if your city is listed first, if not post a new thread. Only thing about the forum is the people there tend to be younger and the moderation isn't all the great IMO. I post as LadyHothie there, FYI.
