Well everyone is doing it so I'm going to do it too.
For those interested in D6 but have no idea where to start, try looking at these websites...
http://www.starwarsclub.org/swstats/ - there were some AWESOME pages up here taking you through every step of character creation, unfortunately they've disappeared, this page still has some stats for comparisons' sake.
http://members.aol.com/vstarblaze - a stat heavy page, which is a little weird to navigate but works reasonably well. There is some homebrewed stuff on there though so if you're not sure, ask Koohii
http://home.adelphia.net/~allard/weg.htm - again, stat heavy, but carries some useful stuff.
http://starwarsabyss.wikidot.com/character-creation - something i found after googling when my first link turned sour, this has a rough guide.

Thanks for the links.
The most useful aspects, as far as I can guess, would be for those wanting to make non-humans or jedi, and for a complete list of skills and concentrations/specializations.

Well, you PM the GM with what you want to play. If you have the rules for the game you can send in stats, atributes, skills, equipment, and background for approval.
If you don't have the rules, I'm sure the GM will help you build the character based on the concept.

Hmmm, I'll probably play in either Merk's game or the D6 game. Which I choose depends on a few questions I'll be asking the GMs first.

If the other games are full and there are still more people wanting to play then I say go for it. What we do have to be careful of is that we don't start up a ton of games that we can't support properly as a board.
On another note, Tendrils of Chaos is now full. If a spot becomes open between now and the start of the game I'll be the first to let you guys know.

At this point, I have 2 open slots, and between the time I want to bed last night and woke up this morning, in addition to the 3 that were jousting and had started work on character submissions, 2 more have asked to join and I had to turn them down.
At this time, I am declaring the game full. Those who have started working on your characters, but haven't finished are competing for 2 slots. So, unless someone decides to drop out, we're set.
I plan to put forth the first post Monday
