Your commlinks all start chirping at the same time.
"This is Arias. I'm in the repair bay with Farn. That big ship we saw? Farn thinks he can get it up and running again. That cyborg lady running arround down here may have a couple circuits loose, but according to Farn, she's put in some brilliant improvisations and substitutions. There's one downside: they don't have any experienced pilots except for us, and they obviously don't have an astrogator, but we have my R2 and Farn's astromech. The big thing is that they don't have a base navicomp controller or regulator here, or any idea how to build one. But according to one of the other survivors from the other pod, the bodyguard, one of the people the other side captured is a hyperdrive engineer. His employer tried to chat her up in the Cetacean Princess' lounge. If we get her back, we might be able to cobble together a way off this planet. If we don't get her back, that Overlord guy may be able to force her to work for him. Never mind what it would mean for the people here if that happened, I don't want someone like that running around the galaxy. He already has some ships in this system. What do you think?"
"Hey, the box talks? Skyfall? Howzit work?"
"This is great news" the elder pipes in. "Why, with a working ship, we could rejoin galactic society. We could proove that there virus was a fraud and hoax. And proper reconstruction could begin. Naturally, we'd need your help to fly the ship, but we can work out details of that arrangement later. Of course, your chances of succeeding in this rescue would be much better if some of your companions went with you." He raises an eye at Azrael and Lady Holt.

Yuul smiled at Tilly's remarks, she seemed to him to be excited to ride in their new vehicle. "I can probally manage if noone else can." Yuul replies, moving to take the driver's seat if noone else does. If someone does, he moves to the passenger seat next to it.
Yuul stops to makes sure he has everything with him, so as not to lose anything while he waits for any others that want to join.

Yuul finds the controls fairly simple to operate--not too dissimilar from a speeder. In fact, it looks like this vehicle may have been cobbled together or had parts replaced from one. The one thing that takes a couple of rough bumps to remember is that this vehicle won't hover over potholes, blaster craters, or large sharp rocks. Tilly screaches over the jarring bumps, but doesn't complain much. Instead she provides a non-stop series of directions, most of which make some semblance of reason. Her abuse of the Basic Galactic language is such that only about half of it is comprehensible on initial hearing.
Rather than taking the direct route, she suggests going arround.
"They got watchers out spottin the paths that the other civvies use. Spotcha in notime. Have to fightem off. Gotta goround to get there. Faster to goround than to gothru."
Meanwhile, back at the underground base, the elder watching Yuul and Tilly drive off turns to Azrael and Lady Victoria Holt. "Well now. It seems you are to be our guests for at least a little while longer. What can I interest you in? We have our library. We have one who has taken to chronicalling events since the collapse and plague. Hopefully you both will feature greatly in a concluding chapter of our planet's rescue. And you, sir, I believe asked about Jedi? There is something that might interest you. I believe I mentioned last night about a Jedi science lab that was sent? Well, it is still here. No one has been inside since they died. Would that be of interest to you?"

Yuul nods in agreement with Tilly and changes his path to go around. As he drives the vehicle has asks, "What kinds of weapons and brutes does the overlord have?" Yuul stays alert for anything out of place.

Looks like it's about 20-30 km in the distance, but you can definately see smoke. You can also hear distant blaster fire and the retort of slugthrowers.

Seeing the smoke and hearing the sounds of battle Yuul says, "Hold on Tilly!" as he floors it, or increases the vehicles speed as much as safely possible. He made sure his weapons were easily accessible as well.

Tilly howl in surprise at the unexpected accelleration as she rolls back from her seat. Seems this cobbled-together vehicle can move a lot faster than either of you expected. After recovering herself, Tilly lets out screams of excitement. "This is great. Why didn't you put your foot down before. Didncha know this thing could go faster? WooHOOOOOOooooooo!" She starts waving her arms up and down.
The red-orange rock of the canyon gives way abruptly. You see what looks like a box on treads with an open flat area on the back and three brute cycles buzzing around it. As you watch, blaster fire from the back area detonates the fuel cell on one of the cycles creating a loud explosion and more smoke to join the other three burning wrecks not far behind. In response, one of the brute cycles throws a hook & line into the back area that latches onto something. Half a second later, a person is dragged out. You can just see that the hook is snagged on his thigh. His screams echo over the sound of the slugthrowers report.

As their vehicle enters the fighting zone Yuul say, "Tilly, keep your head down, this looks rough!" With one hand on the wheel he draws his pistol and fires at the brute on cycle that has the person hooked.
