Just curious if anyone's used the system/how your campaign went.
Working on a few mini-adventures to lead into a campaign, myself.

I have the system but have only run a few minor one shot games. Usually when my group plays a non-SW game its Spycraft. A very, very good system which if I'm not mistaken was the base system Stargate uses only more heavily focusing on combat.

Is this d20 based, or d6 or what?

From what I've heard, it's based on the D20 modern system. Will probablly get an upgrade after D&D4.0 comes out, but before 4.5.

I'm debating something, and wondering what you guys think.
So I'm going to be running a campaign, and am running something of an introduction game set about a year before the campaign starts.
In it, the team'll be captured. I'll end with that, and say it's a 2 part session I'll finish later.
Then, run a one-shot of another game (Paranoia setting.) Halfway through it, one or two of them'll start hearing weird voices (in a setting where mutations and crazyness are common) ...which will be from a rescue team. The team'd be plugged into a device that simulates reality to try to trick them into divulging certain military codes.
Once they figure it out, switch back into the Stargate character sheets/dice system to finish up the session.
Think it'd be fun, or more of an annoyance? Any thoughts?

I think it would be pretty funny. Think I suggested something similar (or maybe it was Magellan_the_cat) with SW & Paranoia
Go for it. Let us know how it works.

That sounds uber-cool.
Can you convert paranoia to stargate and bring them over?

I could, but I don't want the players to suspect anything other than a simple "woo a one shot with a new setting!"
I'm actually just planning on using GURPS for the Paranoia setting, as I don't have the funds for the full system

You could make the players make themselves as PCs
I did that in GURPS, it was depressing. I was like a -10 pt character

A fun thing I did one time was build characters based on the players, then asign the characters to different players. Player A was playing a character based on Player B, etc.
When the personality types are "The Inventive Guy", "The Japan-o-phile", "The Copycat", "the Weirdo who thinks he's an untrained Jedi", "The SciFi Geek", and "The creepy old guy who's hanging around with people 1/2 his age", all shuffled, you can imagine the results.
