Great game so far. The hardest thing so far it trying to roll, but other than that I'm really enjoying it right now.

Got it yesterday, barely started (as in just got the sword and haven't killed anything yet). I also got the prima hardcover collector's edition player's guide. I never thought I'd see a 350+ page book on a DS game... Now to do what I always do, not use the player's guide to play the first time.

How closely linked is it with WW? Does it add much to the Zelda legend?

The only Zelda I played was Windwaker? I think that was it. I really liked though.

Then you need to play Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past right now. Gaming doesn't get any better.

Link to the Past was on the old NES right? When my brother bought Windwaker I think it was a special and OoT came with it on Gamecube.

No, LttP was a SNES game. It was, in my opinion, the first game where the Zelda games became really good.

Got it Tuesday. Very fun so far. I really like some of the "twists" they've put on old Zelda standards. The dialog and story are good as well.
Oh, and Pols Voice can finally be defeated as originally intended, so long ago.

Explain. I mean, I know what Pols Voice is, but it sounds like there's a story behind this.

Pols Voice are the little rabbity enemies. They first appeared way back in the original NES Zelda. The interesting thing about them was that they had a special weakness: loud noises. Yell at them and they'd die. However, this feature could only be used in the Japanese Famicom version, since the Famicom had a microphone that was not released outside of Japan. IIRC, even their name is a reference to this feature, with "Pols" being derived from the computer term polling (where a program continuously checks for input.) Thus, the game polls the microphone for audio (voice) input.
Players outside of Japan never got to use this little trick, because the NES had no mic. Flash foreward to 2007, where every DS has a built-in microphone, and the Pols Voice special weakness comes back into play with Phantom Hourglass. A nice touch, I think.

I have to say, one thing I really love about this game is the in-game economy. You need rupees, lots of them. The game doesn't pull its punches, with some items costing thousands of rupees. Why do I love this? Because one of my biggest complaints for other Zelda titles was that I'd max out my rupees very quickly... and then have nothing to spend them on for the rest of the game. In contrast, I have yet to fill my wallet completely in Phantom Hourglass. Or even get much over 3000, for that matter.

Did anyone get an e-mail from Nintendo regarding a survey on this game? If you fill it out, you get a cool Zelda-themed stylus.
This game is owning my soul. I haven't been this into a handheld Zelda game in years. I think I'm nearing the end, and now that I finally have all the sea scrolls, I hope I never have to go into that damn Ocean King temple ever again.
But I probably will.

Is there any mass market copies of Master Quest? Some way to buy it from a store?

My utilisation of complex locution to ask what's more pathetic, fans who worship their movie actors, or the actors who couldn't give a damn, is more a reflection of my own superincumbent mental actuity than any circumscribed lexicon. Don't you agree?
