Today I picked up the WOW battlechest, which includes WOW and the expansion for only thirty bucks. It runs on DVD Rom. Here's my question, I run a Dell B110 with XP Service Pack 2, do I just need a DVD decoder, like this one http://www.pchell.com/linkto/dvdxpack.shtml to play the disks, or something else entirely?
I haven't opened the battlechest, if I need more and can't get it, I can return it, but I only have a few days, so yeah. If ANYONE can answer, that would rock.
If you have a DVD drive, you should be fine.
So... top 50 US. We were actually showing as top-20 US briefly, but other guilds caught up.

Twins down, finally.
Annoying as heck. The Hunters were putting out consistant 2250dps attempt after attempt (I got 2362dps on Recount on the kill along with #1 dps, w00t), even the Survival Hunter got over 2k dps. We slowly kicked out Mages and replaced them with healers or other dps, and still, tanks kept dying. Very, very annoying.

How many healers did you bring? Now that we're finished with BT and Hyjal and farming the T6 for Brutallus eventually, I'm looking ahead and... my one Resto Shaman and 2 Druids aren't filling me with happy, fuzzy feelings...

We used two resto Druids, three resto Shamans, three holy Paladins, two holy Priests. The Priests were pretty interchangable with Shamans in terms of effect on raid healing. Also, two Shadow Priests.
EDIT: And yes, one resto Shaman sounds like you either need to recruit, to regear, to start gearing alts ahead of time, or to prepare for many tears.

Yes you pay monthyl, but it's only 14.99. I pay for 3 account. Mine, my wife's and my son's. It's not much and the game is well worth it IMHO.

So I'm ready to kill my GM. He keeps complaining that the 3 people I run with and I arn't 70 yet. I try to tell him that we are just enjoying the game and we arn't in a rush, but he yells if we spend anytime on our Alts

That's not bad at all. We've wiped a lot more than that within the last month, and we're way ahead of you in progression. Archie is a tough fight, with a lot of really random things that can kill you. And once people start dying, the chain reaction wipe is really easy. Part of the reason we still go back is to test apps.
A mostly up to date version of my UI, showing us just before try number six or so on Kalecgos.
That version of my UI is just missing Chatters.
Like Archimonde, there's a lot of randomness in the Kalecgos fight. If there isn't someone paying attention, the raid can quickly wipe in ways that are very funny after the fact. For example, as the fight moves on, groups get out of sync due to ports. It so happened at one point last night that the portal for group three opened, the raid leader sent group three down... and then realized that between the last two portals porting healers, deaths, and people having to duck down early to remove stacks, he was the only healer up top. Whoops!

On our first kill the tank got airbursted, 2 melee died instantly and half the raid got a doomfire. In the end I was the only dps alive together with 3 healers, I got him from 12 to 10% and then sat back and enjoyed the ride  .
Nice UI you got there, not too crowded or anything. And also nice to see you're playing a hunter as well, might I ask BM or Survival? And why do you have blessing of salvation, is that mandatory in this fight?

My armory profile. I need to regem my boots (will be +5 agi/+5 hit
I'm Beast Mastery. We have a Survival Hunter, though I could double as Survival if need be. I'm at 770 agility unbuffed with my current spec, I easily can gain further 10 agility with a pair of Blade of Infamy. Factor in the +17% agility I'd gain from talents, and +10% from Kings, and I'd provide a decent debuff. And yes, we use Salvation. We seem to go through phases where Salvation becomes more and less necessary. Right now, with Hunters pushing DPS as far as it can go in short fights, we like us our Salvation.

IMO, be sure to replace the +8 crit gem in your chest with a +8 hit gem, consider switching the gem in your sword as well in the same way. Make sure you're eating +20 hit food. Get 142 hit or thereabouts when possible. If you're more than four points over or under, you're gemming sub-optimally. Very good AP/crit for your overall gear level.
