Buying the annual Xbox Live fee is definitely the best way to go, you'll save up more money this way. However, it's only worth it if you play online on a regular, monthly basis and, of course, if you have a very solid broadband connection. For example, I renewed my yearly subscription to Xbox live in January. However, I only used to play shooters like Halo 2 and I got tired of these games pretty recently. So now my Xbox subscription is picking up dust, so to speak, until I find a game that'll make me want to spend some time online.

I am pretty sure that PS2 has a monthly fee also. Is Star Wars Galaxies better than KotOR II or is it vice-versa? PLease answer.

I heard a question about whether Kotor I or II is better. I think the story line in Kotor I is better than in # 2. however, Kotor II has more features, and you can choose more of what you want to be.(Sith Assasin,Jedi Guardian,ect.)

PS2 does not require a specific service to get online. I am unsure if any particular games requires an extra fee for online play.
XBox requires payment to use it for any online activity.
XBox 360 will supposedly have two grades of online service. The free grade will allow for users to download game updates, patches, and maybe play a few games, but the pay grade would be necessary for most online games.

Jedi_Insurance_Guy, wait for the next generation of consoles. Most will be backwards compatible (I think I read that somewhere) with older games so it would be a waste to spent your money now.

Actually GC does have online capability (modem/broadband stuff sold sep), it's just that few games take advantage of this.
Also:
People here are willing to help anyone with questions, you just have to ask in the proper manner. Otherwise you are asking for a whole world of internet hurt. AN IT WILL B BRAUTEN!

some actual questions:
I want at least one good racing game for my XBOX. I'm a bit of a racing game noob. What would be a good buy? Forza Motorsport looks cool. Is it too complex for a noob?
I want a good tactical shooter for my XBOX. Should I get Brothers in Arms: The Road to Hill 30, or a bargin bin copy of the Ghost Recon Expansion (Island Thunder, I think)? I have GR 2, which bites save for the M29 solo missions. Is BiA: TRTH 30 really as good as the reviews say?

Way ahead of you guys. I BOUGHT my XBOX 2 years ago JUST for KOTOR. The Sith Lords was cool too. I'm not an XBOX noob.
