Hi everyone. I have played Star Wars Battlefront I before and REALLY liked it. Now Battlefront II is out, and I was wondering if it was as good as the first one. Also, is there supposed to be a III one coming out? I was wondering, because I can get I for like $10, and II for $20. I'd rather buy II, but since I've never played it before, I was wondering if it was as fun. Oh, is it still fun on a PC? I only played on my friend's PS2, and I'm hoping that it is just as fun on the computer (for I'm unlucky enough to have neither an XBOX, PS, or GameCube!). Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Well, princess, I would say if you can swing it, get both battlefront I and II. I have played both and like them equally. The PC version is just as fun and probably better really, mainly because FPS are meant for PCs.

I didn't see it in the pages before, but I assume it has already been asked somewhere on this board, but I'll ask anyway, considering this is where this sort of stuff is supposed to go.
What did you guys really think of Empire at War? I heard it could get quite repetitivem, but I'm a pretty big fan of RTS's, although I'm not a very big gamer at all. Anyways, what did you guys think?

I disagree with that. I would only get battlefront 2, as it is a better game, considering the space and jedi additions.
I've found that it's hard to play BF1 after you've already played BF2, because it's so much better.

Yeah that space addition is awesome. It reminds me of driving a pontoon boat through a forest, you are constantly confused, have serious control issues and die at least 1000 times a mission because of it.

Ok, noob question...
I have/beaten (and played over agin a couple hundred times) Jedi Academy for PC. I would like to try KOTOR, would KOTOR be a step back from JA? Can I jump in at KOTOR 2 or should I start at 1? kthx

They are completely different styles of game. It's like asking if Warcraft 3 is a step back from Quake 4.
Anyway no. KOTOR > Jedi Academy. But if you go in expecting twitch combat you'll be sadly disappointed. Also both games are good, but playing KOTOR 1 before 2 would probably be best.

Yeah what Marcus said basically.
THey are entirely different games really. I mean both are SW sure, but not alike much other than that. They're both great fun for different reasons. KotOR is more aimed around single player fun since it has no multiplayer to it and JA is the exact opposite. Most people say it is crap when it comes to single player story line and its only redeeming facotr is Multiplay ability. It is a damn good online combat game.
SO in turn...
I love the story in KotOR completely.
I did enjoy the story of JA, but I love the Multiplayer.
Take your pick.

What type of gameplay is KOTOR? Is it similar to a MMORPG since it's not twitch like JA? Do you get to pick what your toon looks like/skills are? Is there a set path you have to follow in KOTOR or can you wander?
I know in JA, you prettymuch had a set path to follow, but you had a little leway to search around for secret areas...is KOTOR like that or different....sorry if this is confusing.

KOTOR is an RPG. You select your character's look (from a fairly limited set of options, no aliens) and build them up throughout the game, so yeah it's more similar to Galaxies, however you've got a party of characters instead of one and there is a lot of character interaction.
Combat is turn-based realtime; you select what you want to do then your character executes it, i.e Power Strike, use a force power, whatever. However you do still move your character normally.
The first part of each game is fairly linear, then you get some freedom to explore various planets; every planet has one main quest to finish and a bunch of side quests. There are also quests that run across multiple planets and whatnot.
If you've ever played Baldur's Gate/Fallout/NWN/other RPGs by Bioware or Black Isle, it has a lot more in common with them than Jedi Academy.

Personally I think KotOR I is a little better. It's just like with most series, the originals are just better.
Just saber fighting huh? Well there are lots of games out there that have saberfighting in them, like Battlefront I/II or Jedi Academy, but the nearest I can think of that is souly saber fighting would be the ROTS movie game.But I am not familiar with X-box, let alone live, so I don't know if it is a live game or not but I do know that it is an X-box game.

To me KOTR 1 has the better and more complete Story. Though the 2nd game leaves you asking questions, from a gameplay POV I liked KOTOR2 better. The chaacter building was improved and let you go highter in levels. Item upgrading left you with many choices compared to the simple interface in the 1st game. I liked that hard to to find items depended on level. Influence of other party members was cool too. It had it all but the story was fudged a bit due to rushing to get the game out.
