The_Chim posted: Saints Row looks a whole lot like a GTA clone to me.
I'd wait, and me personally, I am going to wait so long that I will never buy it.
It actually fixes four of the five major gripes I had about GTA:
- Clunky saving system;
- No online;
- Too much loading-time; and:
- Manual, rather than automatic, aiming.
We'll see if the timed pizza delivery missions rear their ugly head.
I'll have to say it's kind of a pain in the ass to try join up a multiplay game; people keep bailing before the room gets full. I haven't read the manual, but did I spy an option to start a clan in this game?
Favorite feature so far -- the garage system. You store your car in the home-base garage, come back with another car and store it, too. Then when you want to take a car, it'll give you a list of which to ride in...beats trying to cram 3-4 cars in the same garage they way you'd do it in GTA.
Still, a fun, time-sucking game, with lots of stuff to do. When I went through my first round of "Insurance" missions, I played it like a cross between Flatout and Burnout, driving in the wrong direction down a road and seeing how much damage I can do. Got my first "lots" after crashing the police car into a city dump-truck, and there were a handful of witnesses who saw my body fly through the air.
I like the rag-doll physics even more when I'm being chased by cops. A couple of times I managed to nudge the cop car into oncoming traffic, and seeing both officers fly out the window is simultaneously just hilarious and satisfying. Also, just got the pimpcane shotgun, for beating all the "Snatch" activities in the game.
It's incredible.

I know The Godfather has already been released for Xbox and PS2 and I've read a few reviews that make it look fairly good. The 360 version drops today and appears to have some more levels and obviously better graphics. From a own vs. rent standpoint is this a game worth picking up?

I thought it looked pretty cool actually. I am strictly a PC, laptop currently, gamer only so renting is not an option for me but I am probably going to look into it.
Story is good, obviously, as long as they didn't take poetic license and run free.
Graphics look good, then again (almost) everything does now-a-days.
With a PC I never worry about controls, it isn't an issue with the ease of a mouse and keyboard combo.

I hope you aren't insinuating that you are going to download that game.

That sounds like you were planning on downloading the entire game. I believe that's what Chim is talking about.

Oh, I get what he is saying. And I obviously was unclear. What I meant was, the demo is sure taking a long time to download. I was just wondering how long the actual game would take to install if I actually went out and bought it. THat"s what I meant.

Hey guys, I've got a couple of questions about FF that I wanted your imput on.
So I'm thinking that I want to get into the series, because I've heard the stories are absolutely amazing in them. Now, if what I've read is correct, then the games 6-9 are all for regular Playstation. Now I'm relatively new to gaming, and I've got a PS2, which I got last year. My main question is, is it worth it to go back and play those old Playstation FF games, considering the graphics will probably be pretty shotty. I'm pretty used to the better grapics now, and I don't want to be disappointed if I get those games, and am turned off of them because of the graphics.
Secondly, How would you guys rank those games (6-9) according to storyline, graphics, and gameplay?
If you guys could give me your imput, that's be great. Thanks a lot.

World of Warcraft is the most played, easy to hop in to, and a lot of fun.
Guild Wars is Free and fun.
Pretty much if you're willing to pay monthly, WoW is probably best for you. If you want to be cheap, play Guild Wars, which is still a ton of fun.

Can't believe I missed this before. Anyway, in case you're still looking:
7-9 were PS1 native titles, I believe 6 was ported later as an anthology type project (which means it has SNES graphics with cool FMVs.)
7's character graphics are a bit rough, especially in the overworld, but 8 and 9 are all around excellent. 7 is still serviceable though.
Regarding the storyline: 7-8-9 (from best to worst, IMHO. Though it's been a long time since I've played 9.)
Gamplay they can't really be ranked, they are all very very different in their character systems. 8's is them most widely criticised, with good reason, though it's quite interesting and it has the best minigame (Triple Triad FTW.) 7's is pretty basic but still cool.
Anyway you really can't go wrong with any of these games, all classics. (Never played 6, but ask Axle-Starweilder all about it.)

OH! Hello, looking to get into some of the FF games? Marcus summed a lot of it up nicely, but I'll give my opinion too while I'm at it.
Just so you know FF I,II,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII, and IX are all available on the PS1. You can find I and II on the disk FF Origins. IV is in FF Chronicles. V and VI are in FF Anthology. Out of the older games, Origins are actually SNES remakes of the games, so they actually have better graphics than FF IV,V, and VI. I would say that IV has the worst graphics in the PS1 bunch, but it also has my favorite storyline in any Final Fantasy game. Geez, this will get confusing. I'll make a couple lists:
Best graphics:
1. Final Fantasy VIII
2. Final Fantasy IX
3. Final Fantasy VII
4. Final Fantasy II
5. Final Fantasy I
6. Final Fantasy VI
7. Final Fantasy V
8. Final Fantasy IV
Best Storyline (IMO):
1. Final Fantasy IV
2. Final Fantasy VII
3. Final Fantasy VI
4. Final Fantasy IX
5. Final Fantasy VIII
6. Final Fantasy II
7. Final Fantasy V
8. Final Fantasy I
Fun Factor (IMO):
1. Final Fantasy V
2. Final Fantasy IX
3. Final Fantasy VII
4. Final Fantasy VI
5. Final Fantasy IV
6. Final Fantasy II
7. Final Fantasy I
8. Final Fantasy VIII
And finally, do yourself a big favore. PLAY FINAL FANTASY TACTICS!

I've got KOTOR I and II for Xbox and have played both several times... was having a hankering to play it again so I was curious if there was any difference between the 'box and PC versions that would make me want to drive wildly to the nearest retailer, bowl over old ladies in the checkout line, drive insanely back home and pull my hair out while I wait on the install to finish.
Any help?
